WTF? I just spent nearly 2 hours cleaning JUST the windows and I cannot get them clean no matter what. Brand new car, and this was the first cleaning, so maybe is there some sort of residue or film from the factory that prevents Windex from working? I even used 3 different cloths/towels!!!
windex sucks. don't use anything with amonia. use stoner's invisible glass with a short knap microfiber cloth
Don't use Windex, or any glass cleaner. Use water and a microfiber towel. Then use a cotton polishing cloth to polish the glass.

I would recommend Stoner's also, along with newspaper (they don't streak, don't ask me why). If the problem doesn't seem like it's just on the surface, talk to your dealer.
Windex works fine
Whats going on is that the factory or dealer probably sprayed Rain-X or something like it to sheet off water when it rains. Rain-X is like a wax for your windows
What you can do is like other waxes used dawn to wash it off. I've also used lighter fluid but be careful not to get it on the paint
Then just wash it roughly with windex. Then use a damn chamois to clean it up.
Works fine for me everytime.

theres no rain-x or anything like this on the windows. when all new cars are shiped over here they are sprayed with a protectant all over the car in which you usually only spot on the windows, just take it to the dealership and tell them that their detailers suck at cleaning and you want it brought through again. same thing happened to me.
invisible glass works great; also the idea of removing residue w/a mix of dawn and water (that's what professional skyscraper window washers use)
Windex works just fine for me (though admittedly, the "multi-surface" with vinegar, works better than the normal stuff with amonia, but as long as you use it correctly, it works great. I was getting streaks until my wife pointed out that I was simply using too much... now my windows are spotless.
darn it, i used microfiber cloths and even this towel made for windoes and says streak free and it gave me even more streaks. i got windex, it was ok till i used it with my streak free cloth that doesnt work. I got my invisible glass and there wasnt that much streaks, i also used microfiber with it.
def. a microfiber towel

glad, to see there is a solution! Thanks guys, I'll give it a try. -Brian
or if your going to use vinegar and water might as well douche your car too......
if your windows are tinted amonia or vinegar can damage your tint.....
