Default Swirl Mark Questions

I have a 2005 IIP tC, i first started washing it with a regular towel and later found out it is the worst thing to do. so now i have crazy swirl marks everywhere. anyone know a place in Los Angeles that has a good detailing place or should i spend extra and take it to the toyota dealer? now i use the http://www.meguiars.com/whatsnew/acc...cfm?SKU=X-1030 to wash my car. is this good? i was thinking about using a sponge because it doesnt scratch the paint as much. Please recommend me a good product to wash my car and a good wax. Thanks

I'd be a little concerned about using that brush.

I use Meguiars NXT liquid for wax. It's amazing.

Meguiars makes good stuff. I'm more and more impressed
by them with every product I try.

That said, a brush on paint scares the hell out of me!
Are you going mudding with your car or something that you
need a brush?

Something like this is all you need:

http://www.meguiars.com/whatsnew/acc...cfm?SKU=X-3050

Stick with a quality wash like the Meguiars NXT or Gold Class,
make sure you dry properly, and make sure you are waxed
well to protect you from the harsh LA smog and sun!

As for the swirl marks, if you don't know anyone that can do
it for you, take it to any quality detail shop and have them
wash, polish (to remove swirls), and wax. Being in Cali I'm
sure you'll find a Meguiars detail shop to help you out!

After you get your paint fixed (polished), you should be able to care for it on your
own, assuming you stick with quality products and take care in what you're going!

If the swirl marks are severe then normal hand waxing and polishing isnt gonna remove them . Severe swirl marks usually have to be removed by a polisher or high speed buffing (again only by someone that knows what they are doing , not the ones that know what a buffer looks like ONLY ) , if they are minor swirl marks then yeah hand polish and waxing will cover up most of them .

EDIT :Dont use that brush its the worse thing you can do to your car , no matter how soft they say it is , it will scratch it . just use a regular sheepskin wash mit

I say take it and get it done by the pro's, then washing and waxing afterwards will be easy. As far as the products go, i use all meguires. From wash, to wax, to quick detailer, they are the best.
