Swirl Marks = Gone
On my Black Sand Pearl xB, I had swirl marks like no other. Washing/wax just wouldn't take them out, and when you look at it in the sun they were very noticible. I know lots of the dark colored Scions are having this problem too, I just wanted to say I washed my car, and then polished it up with the new Meguiars 'Deep Crystal System Polish' and they are GONE!
It looks better than it's ever looked, I highly recommend this stuff, plus it was only 4.50 at PepBoys!

I had crazy swirl marks on my BSP xB since the day I bought it.
I use DuPont Teflon wax and then give it a coat of Turlte Wax Black Car polish. Hand buffed with a microfiber towel. Now all I see is the reflection of the clouds in the sky! It's perfect!
Also, if you own a BSP you HAVE to use a soft cloth to wash it. NEVER use washing brushes, just a cloth ot mit that's 100% cotton.
Pick up some Stoners Invisible Glass, and in a few hours your car will look better than it did on the dealer's lot!!

Do you hand wash / wax? I find that the swirl marks and smears in the finish are more common when I hand wax. Polishing and waxing with a Porter Cable random orbital buffer works wonders. You can use a LOT less wax on it. But it's snowy now... and my car is very salty.
yeah i completely agree.. meguairs has some great stuff.. that polish is amazing.. if anyone has more scratch marks that the deep crystal polish can't remove, try ScratchX it's meguairs scratch remover..
glad it removed the scratches!!
i have tried others but always come back to meguairs..

The best product I've ever used is Zaino. I've used Meguiar's, Pinnacle, Liquid Glass, Mother's, Zymol and a few others but they aren't anywhere near Zaino.

For scratches / swirls. . . Meguiar's "Scratch X". (Tried others. Meguiar's is absolutely the BEST!!!) I have to hide my Scratch X. My son takes it, claims it to be his, for use on his Celica GT.
To polish. . . . Meguiar's "Deep Crystal" polish.
To wax. . . . Turtle Wax "Emerald Series - Carnauba Wax". NO powder residue. Buffs up to a fantastic shine.
Method of use. . . HAND.
Delivery medium. . . . OLD terrycloth towels. (Softer, less prone to scratch.
Where. . . the garage. (The 'Old Man's' domain.) Oldies playing on the stereo, fan blowin' to keep me cool, along with the 'window shaker'. Iced tea with lemon to keep the insides cool.
Winter-time. . . the heat is on. Coffee pot is full. The flourescent lights and halogen lights keep a garage 'lit up' like it's summer!!!
Life is good.

Man , Im being sold on just about EVERYTHING!!??
Right now in my hand is the Turtle Color Cure BLUE to help out with my nicks and scratches. And then I`d like to try the Meguires because I`ve used it before. And then Im going to try the Zaino. I would love to get rid of the swirls.

Turtlewax makes some surprisingly good products.
Meguiar's Scratch-X works great on certain types of scratches, but Turtle Wax Polishing Compound works better on others. It also works great on blemishes like tar, touch-up paint spills, etc.
If your paint is starting to look crummy in general, you may want to try a Meguiar's Clay Bar.
If you've never tried Meguiar's before, there should still be a 27.00 kit on sale at Target...

Hello All! I've always wondered if swirl marks are created by waxing? I figure, when applying wax, you're basically buffing it on via hand or machine until the surface is smooth and shiny. However, doesn't the buffing and contact create swirls? I've always been confused about this.
Also, I've seen tons of brand new high rolling Mercedes and what not out on the streets with smooth surfaces to the touch but at certain angles you can see the disease infected swirls. It's always been disturbing in my opinion to see these expensive cars with such flawed paint jobs. My past car was a 96 Integra which I had up until my xB which was about 6 months ago. So I've owned my Integra for over 7 years and the paintjob on that thing was supurb. I've always been affraid to over wax my car for frear of swirls since I've always thought that swirls were caused from rubbing on the surface of your paint from either drying your car with towel, or waxing. Basically, throughout the 7 years I probably only waxed it 2-3 times. I think only twice but I'll just say 2-3. I believe a main factor for the longlasting paintjob is because it's parked inside a garage which definately helps protect it from nature's wrath. I also only washed my car once a month and even every other month if not more. I've always been under the impression that the more you touch (wash, dry, wax..etc) your car, the more swirls and faster your paintjob will fade. I know it's not the right way to take care of a paintjob since I'm probably the only one that's ever done that and actually cared about my car, but it's proven to me that it works.
I've owned my current car (xb) for about 6 months now and washed it a total of 4 times. Right about now it has about as much swirls as my Integra did after 7 years! Don't get me wrong, there's not alot of swirls, just a slight bit here and there. Infact, it probably wouldn't be considered to be a "swirled up" paintjob at all. Very minor swirls nothing that bothers me for the time being.
Anyhow, just wanted to share my experience and would like to know what you guys think.
