Default Waxing bad on new paint?

I've heard that waxing and polishing new cars isn't good for the paint, that since it's new it will dull it over time. Is this true?? How often should you wax and polish your car??

touch it, feel it, stroke it, rub it....if it feels SMOOTH...dont worry bout it...just WASH it...if you feel some little bump feeling things (fallout from trees and whatnot) clay bar that shiat! the best one I have seen is the 3M clay bar...get the clay bar lube and the claybar...rub that shiat down after a nice wash, and then u should be good....clay bars are like an orgasm to new paint (but dont rub it too much, or it may reject you)

Bzzzzzz!

Wrong answer!

Huey, I think what you've heard about is that it's bad to
wax FRESHLY painted cars. Most paint takes 2 weeks to cure,
which means all the chemicals mixed to SET the paint have
done their jobs and from that point forward the paint is done.

After that, it's fine to wax. In fact you BETTER wax. Wax is
a protective coating that bonds with your paint to protect
it from UV rays (which bleach your paint), and helps keep
dirt, bugs, and whatnot from sticking/damaging your paint.

A good wax should do ya for 2-3 months, then you wash,
clean the paint (with clay as mentioned above), and wax
again.

What's nice, a good wax will make washing super easy as
nothing wants to stick to a goog wax job.

Wax it. Like Lonely Raven said, new paint only needs a week or two to fully cure. All Scions are made in Japan, so by the time you get it, it's been well over two weeks since it's been painted. We waxed my wife's new xB the day after we bought it.
