shining monkey? don't they make TIRE shine?

for all your automotive entheusiast car care needs, visit www.autopia.org - their website has an online retail outlet that sells only the finest quality items....

ok enough of the sell-crap, autopia is one of the best sites out there I've seen, and their customer service is top notch, when I bought a batch of almost $200 in car car products they gave me my leather car products for FREE. That was almost $40 right there.

and SONUS Der Wunder towels are the ones you want, and PLEASE for the love of your PAINT do not buy micro-fiber towels from auto parts stores or WAL-MART for pete's sake....

Read up on their write up on Micro Fiber towels http://autopia.org/kb/index.php?page=index_v2&id=7&c=22

Here's their online store - http://www.autopia-carcare.com

Best place to go is Costco - they sell in bulk pack - I believe get 10 in a pack for I think $15.
Quality is same or better than towel I paid $5 for one!

Personally I prefer any microfiber that has silk edges
rather then a nylon hemming like the cheaper ones at
Costco.

Granted, if you are careful and fold the towel properly you
can avoid scratches from the nylon hemming, but even I
have scuffed my box with the nylon hem, and I'm NUTTY
about how I care for my paint.

I'm thinking about putting in an order at Pakshak. They
have the nice silk edged ones, as well as the more
inexpensive ones that are fine for interiors, wheels, glass
whatever.

In that write-up, they suggest that you use Viking brand microfiber drying towels. I bought one of these towels, the exact one shown in their picture, from my local Wal-Mart.

Just saying...

Costco sells a 15pack of MF towels for $9.99. Only thing with them is they have that nylon hem as Raven pointed out.

DONT use them on your paint or fine wheels. You run a good chance of scratching with them. They're perfect for interior, glass, hubcaps, etc.

I just went to PepBoys to get a few towels with silk edges (Meguiars) for any kind of paint work (e.g. wiping off dried wax, drying, etc.)

any difference between the type you'd buy to use after waxing and the type you'd use to clean windows? (or are all good ones multipurpose and good for both)

thanks

I use towels both from www.pakshak.com and www.exceldetail.com Awesome towels at both of these places.

oh, and Halebop, yes different towels do different things. Looking at pakshak's towel lineup you have waffle weave, ultra's, ultra-plush's, and ultra-fine's. The WW towels are for drying. The ultra-plushes are for quick detailing. The ultra-fine's are for LSP removal. The Ultra's are for polish and other product removal. Each one can do other's jobs, but they are made to do one job in particular. If you were going to settle for only a few towels, I'd get 2 of the largest WW towels and a few ultra's.

I use my pakshak waffle weave towels for drying. product removal I use pakshak Ultra's. Quick detailing I use pakshak ultra plush's or excel yellow supreme's. Final buffing I use pakshak ultra-fines. Interiors, door jams, engines, etc I use cheap microfibers from walmart.

Like I said in my earlier post, each towel can do each others jobs, but they're designed to do one thing specificly.
