I'm looking for advice as well, I'm at 34k without any service other than brakes, brake fluid and regular oil changes.

At 34K, you should have already replaced your air filter and spark plugs

Optional: trans. fluid and a drain-and-fill of your radiator.

Although Scion says you should simply inspect those last two, I would recommend replacing 'em myself. Preventative maintenance is cheap. New parts are not.

Tranny fluid is lifetime....save your money for something else. Says it right on the dipstick. If you were to change the fluid do it right, fully flush not drain...but again totally not necessary.

I am at 95k on my tc and it runs like new.....except I am able to tell a little now that new spark plugs are around the corner. Anyway, just keep up on your filters and oil changes and your good.

In a legal context, "Lifetime" really means the duration of the Powertrain Warranty. Upon its expiration, the $JOKE$ is on you.

UOAs done on T-IV ATF show extremely high levels of Aluminum, Iron, Copper, Manganese and Sodium at the 24K mile mark. If you really want to know the condition of your ATF, send a few ounces to Blackstone and they will run an analysis on it.

Ultimately its up the the owner, but ALL fluids wear out. If you search this site, you will discover most tC owners do change out the ATF.
