Default What's Good?

I've been out of the loop for a while, so I'm wondering if anything has changed.

My xB rolled 38k and I'm looking to do the break pads, spark plugs, trans fluid. Basic tune up.

So what's our top choices these days?

I still see the same oil questions that were here two years ago, so I'm figuring not much has changed since I last posted.

Last I recal:

K&N Air filter
NGK Copper core spark plugs
Red Line trans fluid
I don't recall about which break pads were a good choice.

So is this still the same list? Anything else I've forgotten that I should be attending now?

Wow, no help from anyone?

I asked this over at a Honduh forum, and they were plenty eager to help, even though I had a Scion.

First of all, this is the least viewed subforum as most people are more concerned with looks rather than fluids. Give it some time.

The only thing I can recommend is Redline MT90. Even if you dont need to change the fluid (I did mine at about 11k), you WILL notice a big improvment in shifting.

Personally, I would not use K&N AF, nor the sparkplugs you mentioned. But thats jsut me.

Can you give specifics as to why you wouldn't use those plugs or air filter?

That's what I'm here to find out you see.

The MT90 was recommended to me by others as well.

Anyone have any suggestions for brake pads that won't dust up my rims, and perform more smoothly then the stock pads?

I do not like to take in more air at the cost of less filtration. From what I have seen, stock plugs work the best for a non-modded engine.

Excellent stuff. GL4 is the way to go!

I believe ceramic pads will put off less dust, but Im not 100% sure on that.[/b]

At 36,000 you shouldn't need to change the spark plugs, check them. If they are fine, don't worry about it. If you still feel the need to change them, go with bosch platinums +2, the last and fire cleanly.

As for the pads, ceramic will make it less "dusty"
Good luck man. And have fun
