Default Zaino Question

I'm thinking about buying Zaino's Z-2 polish but wondering one thing: Is this supposed to be used with wax, or instead of wax? Thanks. :?:

Instead of wax...Zaino isn't really wax, it is another formula that shines and protects way better than any wax ever could...

Zaino is a synthetic polymer polish. Don't think it's considered a wax in the normal sense.

Do the whole process. It's a lot of work, but IMHO well worth the effort, esp if you have a dark box. Their web site has extensive instructions.

The complete process basically consists of washing with Dawn (to remove existing wax), using a clay bar, wash again to remove clay bar residue, then applying a couple coats of Z-5 (if you have swirls), topping off with a couple coats of Z-2. Be sure to use the rather expensive ZFX accelerator. It speeds up the wax drying process.

What kind of car wash are you using? I've washed our box several time (by hand) without a problem. I also detail with Z-6 (takes about 15 minutes). Most people report that their Zaino treatment lasts a good six months.

Ya, I used to detail cars for a living and we always used Zaino, and people wouldn't come back for a good 6 months because it lasted so long...not good for sales, but good for the customer... :D

I have used Zaino on my last 3 cars including my xB, and I will never use anything else. If you apply it as zaino recomends including the clay bar as a first step (even on a new car) followed by the prelock(z1), swirl remover(z5)...yes even on new cars..., show car polish(z2), and then periodic quick detailer(z6) you will get a shine that doesnt fade away in weeks it will last for a year or more. to apply it properly will take the better part of a weekend but is well worth it in my opinion.

anyone ever try turtle wax's ultra gloss? it's the only thing that would make my stupid bright green corolla shine, the shine lasted about 2 months, not bad. i like the stuff, but i woulnd't use it on a new scion because it is meant to be used as a cleaner wax, meaning that it is slightly abrasive, they don't tell you that, but after looking though the ingredients and the website, it is.
i'm going to order sone zaino z2 and some zaino wash z7 and some gloss enhancer spray z6...not bad for $40 worth, it'll make a mirror of your hood

Just wanted to add one thing..

Z2 and Z5 or sort of made to work together. It is best to put on coats alternately.

It is recommended to use Z2 as the last coat when you are alternating because of its 'higher optics'.

Z5 does an awesome job of filling in swirls and scratches you might already have. It may take a couple of coats.

If you are short on $ and need to skimp - get the ZFX, Z2 and Z5 at the very minimum. ( You can use your own car wash, diff claybar, and detailer spray to save money )
