I asked my rep about it and talked to stephanie as well. apparantly this is true and you're going to have to be 21 to get in to the VIP event . . .

probably an oversite, but hey, you still get a free trip to Miami! that's nothing to complain about, you know?

 

Darren called me last nite. He said that he had JUST found out that bother the Scion event & VIP party you're going to have to be 21 & over for. Yes, it says when you entered, you had to be 18 & up, so...it was an error in planning.

Whoever is not 21 can either take what the trip is worth $1020...or they can take the free airline ticket & hotel room for 2 nites & do whatever they want in Miami...but they can't get into any of the Scion events.

So, to all the people I thought I'd be meeting down there, sorry...next time. I turn 21 10 days after the events...just my luck. I'm going to be taking the money to get some super sweet mods to my box. =) That's almost just as good...well, maybe even better.

Personally, I would take the trip. But the less at Miami, the more intimate it will be... and I like that.

I'm old enough that if I could loan each of the 'under 21' folks three extra years, we'd all be able to get in (with some years left over...).

I'm very disappointed that I won't get to meet some of the folks I was hoping to, and disappointed that the planners of the event made this sort of error.

Still, even those under 21 who's names were drawn get something they didn't have before: Either a 3 day 2 night high-end trip to Miami or a thousand bucks in their pocket.

Well I think me and tC562 are the youngest ones thats gonna be there! Thank god for my B-day being that saturday! But Guys take pics and stuff of whats gonna be happening at the event for me and I'll just catch up with you guys at the Afterparty!

Nope, only if you're under 21.

 

The "cash in" of the prize is ONLY being offered to those folks under 21 who were mistakenly awarded the prize that the lawyers eventually said couldn't be awarded to them (they can't go to the event or VIP party 'cause there will be alcohol at both). They are offered the option of still going to Miami, etc., without going to the events, or instead taking the equivalent money.

From what I understand for everyone else, they either accept the prize (3 days, two nights in Miami Beach, flights to and from for those over 200 miles away, and invitations to the Scion Miami Event and the VIP After Party) or delcine the prize and the folks running the sweepstakes will attempt to award that prize to another entrant.

There isn't an option to say "I don't wanna to go so gimme the money."

I'm under 21 but I'm still going. This is a free trip to Miami and I get to meet new Scion owners!

 

Its not that I want the money.. Actually yah it would be nice to have 3 carpayments saved up.. But its gonna be hard to move around my finals..

 

Sorry guys had to Change and pass the trip aside and claim the cash instead due to Sudden Short Notice issues. Family is asking me to stay due to the fact that my mom's going to go into surgery. So have fun for me guys!
