Default Airline Rules

I can't keep up with the airline rules.

I don't plan on checking any of my luggage in... I'm going to do all carry-ons. I don't see the need for me to bring much luggage, kwim?

So are we allowed to bring bottles on now? Like, can I bring my makeup, hair gel, hand lotion on board now?

How about my laptop or portable DVD player?

I'm already keeping my stolen guns and pound of weed at home. I know they still frown upon that stuff ;) .

Save yourself any headaches or lost items and just pack it all into one bag and check it. I have lost countless $$$ worth of items at the airport when travelling on business. If they find anything on you that they don't like (or more appropriately, the inspector would like to keep for themselves!) they will confiscate it and you will lose it. They don't mail things back to you and they won't let you go back and add it to your checked luggage. I carry as little as possible.... keys, wallet, sunglasses, iPod, and laptop. I make sure there is NOTHING other than the lappy in its bag because I have had them destroy a bag digging through it because it contained a set of small eyeglass screwdrivers.
If these flights are all nonstop, odds are slim that they will lose your checked baggage. ...and now that I've said that, my luggage will be the one to disappear.

Good advice guys, thanks!

God, I hate checking in luggage though! What a pain it is to find the carousel, wait for your stuff, blah blah blah! I will think about doing that though. I don't want to spend the entire flight to Miami, crying over my lost goods, lol.

So you CAN have a laptop as carry-on luggage? Is anyone bringing theirs?

I was just planning on having a carry on bag but if the airport dudes are going to steal my ____ I'm gonna put it in a checked bag. I think my dad is going with me anyway. We can pack all our stuff into one big bag.

Yeah, DHS doesn't mind that you carry on electronics such as a laptop, iPod, cell phone, etc., provided that they can see it operate to make sure it is not concealing anything. Just make sure you leave the samurai swords, M16s, RPGs, and the C-4 at home.

Keep it simple, guys. I will have ONE backpack with me.

Anything that doesn't fit into it stays at home...

Geez. You must have big feet then! j/k
So exactly how many pairs of shoes are you bringing? I think I'll wear my Doc Marten's onto the plane, my Doc's to the airport, my Doc's to the event, and then, just to mix it up, I'll wear my Doc's to the afterparty!

Did you really just ask a female about shoes? Okay! Sit down, grab some coffee, cuz this can take a while... :D

First, the plane, I will be wearing flip-flops or slip on open back sneaker styles, depending on the weather. Then when I get there, to unpack, I will def be wearing flipflops.

Then, for the first day, I will have comfy walking shoes to scout out the area, I will change to a matching pair of low pumps for dinner, dancing will most likely be low stiletto style heals, so my feet don't hurt the next night.

Then....need a bathroom break yet? Tough! K, so the next day the morning will be a different set of flip flops for breakfast, probably a different pair of sneakers to keep my feet good for the next evening, early dinner will be in open toe sandals, and the event will be in boots since it will probably involve a ton of standing.

That night, I will wear flip flops to get ready, open toed stilettos to the afterparty, and when I change, some closed toed heels to live it up in SB! To go home, I will probably wear what I wore to go. *gasp* The same shoes twice! Don't tell!

Do you want to know a rundown of my wardrobe too?

Shoes... I'm brining nice sandals for the party/event and flip flops for the beach. I might wear my knock-off Crocs with socks on the plane there and back so my wee little toes don't freeze off in Seattle.

Clothes, I'm brining clothes to wear there, clothes for the party and clothes for the way back. I will have to wear something twice though since I'm staying a day longer.

I am also bringing my camera, laptop (maybe) and minimal makeup, brushes and other daily hygiene items.

Hopefully I'll get this all in one carry-on and oversized purse type thing for possible laptop, book or whatever for the plane.

*shutters* remind me not to head out to the beach, lol.

I want to wear jeans to the event. packing lightly, jeans, slacks, tshirt, button down shirt, underwear good for a few days what with being able to turn around and inside out, sneakers and nice shoes, or maybe just sneakers, camera and contact stuff. I am going to check my bag because the last time I took on a carry-on there was no room in the overheads, they say only one carry-on but lots of people bring on more then one and stuff them in the overheads, grrrrrrrrrrr.
