I really can't decide which I should do - I figure a majority of attendees will be flying in but I plan on driving. I just can't decide if I want to put the miles and risk of paint/windshield damage on my xB or bring a rental.

I should make it be known that I'm extremely cautious w/ my xB (wash it often, only commute to and from work with it usually).

If you were me, what would you do?

 

Mine's nearly two years old, and would almost pass for new - and she's a daily driver and has made long trips - even been out of country. If I lived within 200 miles of Miami I wouldn't even think twice about the drive - she'd go. Each of us feel differently, though. :D

^agreed, I bought mine to drive, so I voted to drive it, then you could shuttle people from airport to hotel and back, lol, j/k. Do what makes you feel safe.

 

Just around 250 miles away, I'll just simmer on it for a bit since I can cancel the reservation at the last moment.

I understand your dilemma, Maria, but my problem is I enjoy my box so much that I still look for opportunities to drive it.

It has been a long time since I had another car that made me smile just to see it. :D

DRIVE!!! pick me up at the airport... i arrive at 3:20pm thursay. Kidding! But I would drive!!

 

I voted yes too. I actually gave momentary consideration to driving from Iowa, but I couldn't take the time off...

Oh well. That's me though. I love the road trip. JSYK, I baby mine too. Upwards of 35K miles on mine and won the "So Fresh and So Clean" award at the last show I did (after a 5 hour drive).

Also, as a bonus to driving you can bring as much shampoo and hair gel as you like. Hell you could even bring a case of toothpaste for all of us!

Yes, you can definitely have a daily driver and baby it, lots of us do. I'm getting ready to roll 40,000 miles.

Ok well I'm editing this post - a co-worker of mine just told me to stop being so paranoid and enjoy my car. (Another yes vote)

 

well I wouldn't drive mine, mines a daily driver washed as often as it can be and well you can't tell its blue the paint is so chipped and scratched its not even funny

yea but you can't get them for the roof and sides of the car, got a chip the size of a dime on my roof

 

You can absolutely get custom cut strips from most authorized dealers.

cool, yea but arkansas doesn't have any, my boss's boss is trying to get into that for the body shop but I don't think I'd get it for a price I could afford

 

Ok so my HMFIC is to scared to drive my xB so rental car it is.

I'd call him and tell him but we've been calling each other back and forth all night keeping ourselves entertained at work so I'm going to leave it be for now. I just realized he's not 25 so him driving the rental may be a headache.
