that's almost half my daily allowance...

 

Word of warning - before you get ____ed off when they take your bottles away at security, I would advise reviewing the rules for carrying on alcohol. I believe the only bottle over 3 ounces allowed, must be purchased in the airport, after you pass through security. Additionally, unless something has changed, I think you can only make purchases in the 'duty free' shops, if you are traveling internationally, not domestically - they used to check your tickets for verification. If alcohol is only sold at duty free once inside security, then we as domestic travelers can't buy it. I could be wrong on that, but I think you're pretty much screwed - you might be better off waiting until you get to Miami, since you can't drink your own alcohol on the plane anyway. You're getting Scion money for a cab - throw the cabbie a few extra bucks to take you to a liquor store on the way to the hotel.
If anyone knows differently, post up - before the TSA agents have a party with all the confiscated bottles.

AHHHHHH! this time next week i will at the airport! wooot! livin in houston i'll proabably be fighting traffic to get to IAH! sooo ok maybe a little later than this time! AHH!

 

The traffic to get to the aiport will be so bad, we'll be stuck in it RIGHT at rush hour

 

Yeah, 3 ounce toiletries and such are the only liquids and gels allowed through - and that doesn't even mean only three ounces left in a 6 ounce bottle, but the container ITSELF must be a maximum of three ounces.

The other option is, of course, to check your half gallon of Beam... Make sure it's in a plastic bottle - I doubt glass would survive the luggage gorillas, and that would be a shame.
