couldnt we just put it under "other income"? I really wanna get my taxes done so I can pay off some bills. Im sure the IRS wouldnt really say anything as long as we claimed the amount right? It would be different if we didnt claim it...
OK, Time for me to contact BMG again. My understanding of the IRS rules gives 31JAN2007 as the deadline for them to provide completed form 1099s to us.
E-mail sent - I'll let you know what response I get.

Jason,
My reading of the IRS rules gives 31JAN2007 as the deadline for getting the Form 1099s to us.
That date has come and passed.
May I have some solid information to pass on to the 327 other folks waiting to file their tax returns?
Thank you,
Tom

Hi Tom,
You will be receiving something called a W2G within a week or so. 1099's are for cash prizes only. Sorry for the confusion. I gave a handful of under 21'ers a cash option. Those folks get a 1099. The actual winners who claimed the prize get the W2G. if you have any more questions, please email our CF0, marcus carles at _______@_______________. Thank you!

When filing electronically taxpayers must provide Forms W-2, W-2G, and 1099-R to the Authorized IRS e-file Provider before the Provider sends the electronic return to the IRS. Providers are prohibited from submitting electronic returns to the IRS prior to receipt of all Forms W-2, W-2G, and 1099-R from the taxpayer. Taxpayers filing electronic returns using a personal computer enter the data from the forms into the electronic filing software themselves. This is similar to the attachment of Forms W-2, W-2G, and 1099-R to the face of paper tax returns. Taxpayers who have not received Forms W-2 [W-2G, 1099-R] from their employers [or other payer] and want to know what to do may obtain information here.
Hope that helps, folks!

Thanks for the info, Marco!
I passed it on (minus the e-mail address for your CFO) via the ScionLife topic discussing this (https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=157068) so those others currently delaying their filings OR having scheduled appointments in the very near future with their tax people will know how to proceed if they have not yet received their forms.
The deadline for those forms really was 31JAN.
See http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc154.html for more information.
Take care,
Tom
