So if clubs are expensive or for the beautiful people only, as hinted in another thread here, I should probably find a room somewhere. Or if there was another lone female out there who'd like to shack up with me for the night and split room cost, lol.
I will Jenna!! I am staying until Sunday, my flight doesnt leave the airport until 8:45 pm!!! Let me know!

I may call tomorow just to be sure for myself because it would suck to pack everything up check out take a taxi and re-check in somewhere else.
I just called myself and the price that they are giving us is $339 for saturday night. That includes the discount for us already being there for a convention there are no aditional discounts available. She did mention that they have a AAA and AARP discount but those are only good on suites

I already tried and there are no discounts available $339 is the price for saturday night and that is the convention rate. AAA and AARP discounts are the only other discounts but they are only good for suites. I would hate to know the price of a Suite.

ok i've looked into some hotels for saturday. now i'm not just looking for any old HoJo or Sheridan piece of crap hotel where i'm just gonna crash. I'm in miami....i want a sort of trendy atmosphere with good ratings (at least 3 stars and guests have to say they like it) and i checked out a bunch that are close to the convention center (within 2 miles) and that are affordable if 2+ people go in on it. heres what i found:

www.hotels.com (look at the listings for these hotels to get more info)

doubletree surfcomber hotel miami - south beach
starts at $106 a night
3 stars
0.3 miles from convention center

the palms south beach
starts at $112 a night
4 stars
2 miles from convention center
"beautiful pool, private beach and excellent food" Guests lounged on the beach in "a personal Palms beach lounger where you can order breakfast lunch or dinner" at "a very reasonable cost."

national hotel
starts at $113 a night
4 stars
2 blocks from convention center
expensive food, beautiful hotel

conrad miami
starts at $149 a night
4 stars
0.8 miles from convention center

townhouse hotel miami
starts at $140 a night
3 stars
0.4 miles from convention center
no pool but really cool extras ("the hotel's basement restaurant serves sushi, sake and Japanese cuisine at communal tables in a minimalist setting. Red lounges, umbrellas and waterbeds grace the rooftop sundeck, where a bar opens on Wednesday through Saturday nights. ")

albion south beach hotel
3 stars
starts at $150 a night
0.3 miles from convention center

hotel chelsea
3 stars
starts at $155 a night
1 mile from convention center
no pool but free breakfast and drinks at happy hour

savoy hotel and suites
3 1/2 stars
starts at $154 a night
1.4 miles from convention center
"two outdoor pools encircled by palm trees and tropical foliage, two sundecks with chaise lounges overlooking the ocean and a private beach club"

radisson hotel miami
3 stars
starts at $164 a night
1.3 miles from convention center

hotel nash
3 1/2 stars
starts at $165 a night
0.9 miles from convention center
"The hotel features poolside cabanas and three spa pools, featuring fresh water, saltwater and mineral water in a courtyard setting, The hotel's continental breakfast is more than adequate"

I just checked Doubletree and it's $181.42 after taxes! Might be too high, but the location might be worth it?
