I think that it is scary that a website can have such an impact on our culture. I don't have a MySpace and I don't care about it one way or the other. However, when girls come into school crying over what a "friend of a friend" said on MySpace, it gets a little annoying. Hats off to the creators of MySpace though, they hit a jackpot.
Yea its made a serious impact on our society. People gettin ____ed over a denied friend request and sh*t like that. Hahaa. I actually think there was a fight at my school over myspace.

I like Myspace and use it to keep in touch with family and friends. It also keeps me entertained at work when I need a quick escape. I've never had any problems with it or the people on there. Well, that's not completely true, I have had to block one person and believe it or not I originally know him from here on Scionlife. He is a CREEP++++ So it's not just that website, they're everywhere!
I looked at this thread thinking the OP was sarcastic or a joke... Then I realized he was serious. Sad.
It's just a website people. If you're social life is entirely dependent on Myspace... That is a big shame.

I work in Human Resources. I see tons of resumes everyday. More and more I am seeing people add their MYSPACE ADDRESS to their contact info on their resumes.
This is ridiculous.
On a similar note, it is common for employers to "check out" potential candidates using myspace, google, etc. I admit I am guilty of this. I sometimes search for current employees as well. The internet makes everything just so accessable

^^^Our newspaper had an article about looking at peoples myspaces before hiring them. Heh..Good thing you have to be my friend to look at mine, otherwise I couldnt get a job. haha.

Not only that, but PEOPLE make it accessible. I can't believe people have almost their entire personal lives on a website accessible by the general public. Then they wonder why they're getting canned or can't get a job in the first place. Or getting suspended/expelled from school for that matter.
And for those of you who think they're clever by making their accounts "private"... People can still view it... Trust me.
I was doing some research for work and I found:
The *average* MySpace user spends over 2 hours per day on the site.
Site gains atleast 5 million new users per month.
Ranked number 3 in most visited list. Behind Yahoo(1) and Google(2).
Just a bit of information that you can't live without.
