Would you buy used 350z (around year 2004)
or, buy used Evo 8?
Evo9 is too expensive for me so I gotta go for Evo8
Maximum I can spend is 25k including tax

Do you like bigger engine with no turbo or smaller engine with turbo?
I dont have $ to put turbon on 350z

I love the sound of turbo...
but I feel Z is just sexy.

 

imo: evo's are not great looking cars. they're badazz nodoubt. but if you get a previous model, it's going to look like a older model. it's going to be used and abused probably too. would you want to buy a car like that from even yourself after you owned it for 2-3 years?

350z i think is the best looking car on the road bar none. The engine is far superior to the evo(really it's one of the best motors on the market), and i'd bet in 3 years down the road, you're going to have less to fix. if you do get money to spend on a turbo or supercharger you'll cream your pants when you get 400horseys no prob. and at your age, you probably want a drifter.

I'm 6'4" and i sat in one, and that protuding door plastic sucks and hits my left leg on the 350z, but overall the interior is nice.

I'd personally get the evo. I like cars that aren't extremely popular, which is what attracted me to the tC. Everyone and their moms has a 350Z. I'm actually starting to like my tC less because all of a sudden, everyone in my area is getting one.

 

for my one and only, plus daily driver, the z. evo's are too spartan, mitsu doesn't have as good build quality and reliability.

the z makes a more classy appearance, the evo is more of a barely legal track car.

 

The popular cars are popular for a reason though.
Your logic says... less people buy it so you should get it. Maybe less people are buying it cause it isn't as good of a car...

 

Not necessarily. Most of the 350z drivers I see are middle aged people that bought the car because they liked the looks and not for what the car was intended for.

Don't get me wrong, I love the 350Z, but when I can drive down my street or walk out into the parking lot and see 10 of them on any given day, it's too popular for me.

Personally I'd get an M3, but that might be a little too high in price. I can't wait for the V8 M3 to come out

 

which is exactly the reason to i'd buy a used z over a used evo. i'd rather buy a used car driven by a 40something woman, than a late 20s racer guy. there's a reason evo's are the #1 most expensive cars to insure.

the maintence costs of owning an m3 bmw, make me say a big no. and upgrading the motor of a bmw is just a stupid thing to do.
(and the looks, ugh, i think they didn't cut the hood or bumper pieces like they should have)
as sinful as it sounds, the only recent bmw i'd ever look at getting is first gen z3m3 hatch (the shoe)

 

i say get the 350z!
i personally wouldnt get one because its too low to the ground and i have a fake hip, but if i could i would buy one in a heartbeat

the evo is fast but... its not classy. looking at an evo, to me, the design screams cheap, whereas the 350z looks real classy. step father had an evo i drove it for 2 weeks straight and ended up hating it, its not a daily driver and it feels so damn cheap!

That's what warranties and free maintance are for. I'm also curious if the Lexus IS-F is going to come out and how much it is going to be. I love that car

I can't stand the shoe! I think it is the most hideous car BMW ever made. But hey, that's what opinions are for. You think it's cool and that's all that matters.

the only lexus is i would consider owning is the 250 with a 6 spd manual. i don't care how fast or how expensive the is-f will be, if it doesn't come with a three pedals, i'm not interested. manumatic paddle shifting, push button, tiptronic whatevers will never provide the same satisfaction as coordinating my left foot and right hand with a good stab at the gas for rev matching.

 

evo iix, more mods, more track, and AWDEEEE!
don't forget practicality of 4 doors and a boot.

 

For that car, I could get over it. I love driving stick, but sometimes it is a big pain in the ****, especially when stuck in traffic for 3 hours moving at an average of 2 mph.

 

350Z!! I've been doing a lot of research cause I've been trying to get an Evo IX...after all I've done, I think that the Evo is not worth getting anymore. It definitely has the power, but when all comes together, I'd rather get someting else. 350Z would be my next choice.

 

well at least consider this. you live in new york where it snows? 350z = no go in snow. especially if you find yourself having to stop on a slope.

 

^Hmmm.... living in Ca i hadn't thought of that... Definitely something to consider.

 

Just get a set of summer wheels and throw some snow tires on the stockers for winter. I have a few friends that do that with their cars. It's still a pain, but definitely doable.

 

well, on a slope doesn't matter so much, if anything, our tc's have a harder time moving away from a stop on a slope because when going up a slope, the weight is on the rear wheels instead of the front ones.

also, snowtires can be a challenge, it depends on how big the brakes are and if you can get a snow tire to fit over them.

anyway, you live in new york? how good are the roads because a evo will beat you senseless on imperfect roads more than a z will.
