Default 9/11

Today marks the 5th year of the tragic moments that changed everyones lives. My heart and sole goes out to the ones who are affected by the terrorist attacks first hand. I know many people say, "where were you on 9/11 at 846am?" Well, I can answer this and say, I was in the Navy and standing watch at that time in Washington State. Things changed for the rest of the time I was in the Military. Today, I work at a military contracted business. We make radios for the military for all the branches. I was outside today near the flag pole at work @ 846am and everyone was at silence for the remembrance of the people that lost their lives on 9/11.

To everyone on SL that was affected 5 years ago...My heart goes out to you guys!

I was on active duty and was pulled to NY to act as security. I never want to go to NY again. I am tired of all the documentaries. People died. Make a memorial and quit with the movies and tv shows. It sickens me.

I realize that, but I am tired of the movies and tv dramas about it. It is soo fake(the movies and shows) and everyone thinks they know what happened.

It is more than just people that died, but unfortunately all the movies and documentaries are just proof that people will gladly take advantage of others pain and suffering to make money. People who used the attacks for monetary gain should be executed old school military style, and have their funds donated to memorials and such.

Sorry, just a tad bitter about these things.

^^^ ditto. I am very sick of seeing documentaries, the footage being played over and over, all the discovery channel and learning channel shows on the buildings, why they fell, etc. I saw a couple of clips of the show last night about 9/11 and it was very disturbing.

Since the show was a dramatic reinactment based on a real life event (9/11), I think people are now going to get the wrong idea about who was behind this. The show looked as though they were completely against countries (terrorists came from this country and that country) and made them seem bad... Although I know it is just a show, however, basing it on real events is now going to stir up US' diverse communities even more so...

I was at Circuit City when it happened. They had a wall of TV's showing it all. My reason for going there was to get the Dream Theater: Live Scenes from New York.

I ended up buying 2 copies of it that day. One to listen to, one as a momento to that day.

Talk about irony.

They immediately pulled them off the shelves in most stores so they could redo the artwork.
