Anybody Own Firearms? Gun Control?
look at it as giving an intruder a gun..... keeping a locked gun (which I would hope most or you , or at least ones with children would do ) in your homes. fat chance you'll have time to unlock it and shoot them once their in your home , and then try explaining it to the cops , you may end up in jail for defending yourself!.
or say you keep your guns loaded and unlocked , pretty easy for the intruder to take and use against you.
I've shot about 12 different guns , have done marksmanship , and have held over 100 guns.
there is no need for me to have one. last i need is a small figth to escalate into a gunfight , I try my darndest to stay out of bad situations , and if I'm ever in one I will give everything but my life and my family if need be , shooting them and perhaps giving them the time to shoot back at me isn't high on my priority list.
and the media is nowhere near my only or even main source of information , on ANYTHING.
oh and fully auto bb guns as well as airsoft guns are a blast.

Well... if someone gets in my house at night, they are going to have to make a good amount of noise to do it and will take them long enough to ensure I am awake, locked and loaded. That has happened before, but the would be intruder for some reason decided to go before completely coming in. I am guessing the sound of the slide on the 9mm changed his mind. And that was in OK, where I could have legally put one between his eyes for breaking in my home and making me feel threatened (as is the case in any state with a self protection law regarding the home). So no worries there.
As far as carrying one, in an ever growing number of states these days we have conceal carry laws. If your life is being threatened, you are registered and you end up shooting them (which most times doesnt get to that point once the weapon is in view) , you are in the right.
Concerning a skirmish becoming a gunfight, that comes down to a hothead carrying a gun. Even in the event it is pulled, the situation most times can be controlled peacefully (which is the idea) rather than the trigger being pulled. If your life isnt being threatened, you should not have it in your hand to begin with, as that is a last resort. Granted, there are dumb people with guns out there.. but there are the criminals who are just as dumb. But for those of us with a head on our shoulders they can be safe AND effective at the same time. There is always the chance someone will get the better of you, but that is just part of life. They would have gotten the better of me just the same if I had no gun to try and get to.
And I was mainly messing with you hotbox with my previous comment. I respect your decision not to own one as much as I do my own decision. It goes both ways. What I do argue with people about is them wanting to take MY decision away by passing laws banning firearms owned by law abiding citizens.

true , i think the law abiding public should be able to own and carry guns , I do however think that gun laws should be tweaked a bit , in cali there is a waiting period of 10 days and you can only buy one gun a month , bullcrap I say , the 10 days is good , the 1 a month pretty dumb imo.
and in virginia for instance it's all too easy to get one , I think the background checks should be beefed up .
but yes it is every sane , felony free individuals right to own and if allowed to do so carry a gun.

I took a concealed carry class in Texas. 1/3 of the class was methods for defusing a situation with words, peacefully. I think the class should be mandatory regardless if you carry or not. It gives many good angles on how to resolve problems. I really wasn't expecting that going into it, but it made me feel even better about taking it.
I agree with background checks, I think if that system worked the way it was designed, things would work much better. I don't mind getting checked out when I purchase a firearm, I know the system is there for people's protection. I have a clean record, so I know I deserve my privilege to purchase a firearm.

How the hell did he pick up a General Electric mini gun?! Hell, I want to shoot it! I miss my Glock 19 RTF2 though. Probably going to build me a AR at the end of the year.
Texas is very linnet on gun control and who can own them. He has some special license to carry full auto and heavy machine gun weaponry, even explosives. His collection goes from WWII to modern even including an RPG and the modern Tech whatever laser lock bazooka all the way to a Barrett 50 cal sniper to the rapid fire grenade launcher. Plus he owns a machine shop south of Houston and makes his own rifles and pistols.
I personally have 2 .30-06, a sig mosquito, .357 magnum, and some assorted shotguns. I had some FN weapons that got stolen and two .45s that were stolen.
I am getting 20/20 colt pretty soon that I can rig a 500 round clip to for some fun shoots. Really contemplating getting a Bushmaster while they are so cheap
