the XS is a good DSLR to start with, i think the other is cheaper because of the silver body? not many people preferr a silver body but it doesnt matter the color, its all of whats inside and the lense.

the packaged lens has a better zoom then stock lens. i say since your asking all these noob questions that u do more research before you buy. just a word of advice.
