Question: Atheist: devotes life to helping people, donates everything he has to the people worst off.
Christian: Middle class, goes to church every sunday, couple bucks in the contribution basket (to build new churches) but beyond that doesn't do anything for humanity.
Who goes to heaven?

My faith is not ridiculous. If I can have faith in myself why can't I have faith in others? Others as in my God?

you know, according to your religion, I will see you on the new earth anyway, so me being an atheist, doesn't mean i won't finally arrive where you do. according to your little book. here's how it breaks down for us atheists and murderers and rapists:

I die.
I goto hell.
the world ends.
armagedon.
I then get 4 months of "the scorpoins sting"(supposedly a metaphor for the worst pain known that will cleanse my soul)
then me and you will go hand in hand to the new earth.
yay!

so we all get to hang out with child molestors (o, and hitler too) in the end.

I'd say the atheist, but that's not my call.

Oh and to the best of my knowledge saying that someone who denies christ as thier lord and savior will go to heaven over someone who spends his life worshipping him goes against everything christians believe.

Actions speak louder than words.

I'd rather kick it with Hitler than a few other people who aren't marked as such evil people.

Where you heard that, I'm not sure. You're right in one sense, I do think Everyone has eternal life... but not in the same place, heaven or hell. 4months of the scorpion sting purifies you? The only way to be purified is by the blood of Christ...according to my faith.

My man, you do not know your own faith then. I know I have studied your religion alot more than you and 99% of christians, but don't you know, revelations has it all laid out for us?

So... invisible zebras, no. Blood of a dead guy from thousands of years back, yes.
I would never try to make anyone stop believing in god. My GF (soon to be fiance ) is lutheran and I love her for it. My sister was involved in bad things and when she converted to Mormonism straightened up. Religion has done great things for a lot of people and it is not the Atheist you have to worry about forcing themselves on others. It is the religous who have tortured and slaughtered and intimidated in an effort to convert.

yeah, go ask all the mass murders and rapists in prison, if they're christian or atheist.
You do not find ignorant atheists, agnostics yes, but being an atheist is alot different than "not caring" agnostism. Hitler was a christian, dalhmer, gacy, etc...the KKK and *****, all christians.

but seriously, about your above post and EVERYONE ending up in heaven... you are severely misreading a part of Revelation... The entire Bible is very clear about the need for a savior and the ramifications of sin... eternal damnation.

It is indeed very sad that many many people have carried a flag of Christianity and have either not acted according to their own beliefs, or were not really Christians. There is even a large population that thinks they are Christian, but really are not in the true sense of the word. Going to Church on Sunday, or even participating in the Christian lifestyle, does not make you a Christian.

It was also mentioned earlier, that if someone really believed in God, that they would act like it. (The whole jump out of the way of the truck thing). This is true in a sense. Becuase we've experienced God's forgiveness, we want to be more like Him, obey, and please Him. It is not like, "I'm saved so not I can do what I like." That, would definitely not be the result of someone that has true faith. Furthermore, everyone is not perfect. Actually, no one is or can be perfect. We're all effected by sin, and it is eveident by the very way we are brought into the world (painful childbirth/child screaming). No one is perfect, everyone is guilty. And that is why God provided for us a perfect sacrifice so that he might save us.

To bad priests don't drive scions. I've had the best talks with men of the cloth (i went to a private catholic high school). It would be nice to talk to someone knowledgable about thier own religion.

Hmm, I think y'all need to read revelations more closely. Last I checked only 144,000 people from the original tribes of Israel (12000 per tribe) get to go to heaven. Rev 7:4 I believe...

everyone does not end up in heaven, they all end up on "the new earth" which is true eternity according to christianity.

eternal damnation only will happen if this world never ends. I have great faith in humanity to someday blow it up.

the only criteria to goto heaven is..."accepting jesus christ as your lord and saviour, and knowing he died on the cross for your sins." that's it. you can molest children everyday and if you believe in those things, and as long as you ask for forgivness for your sins, you goto heaven.

But if you're ___ and believe yourself christian, but don't ask for forgiveness because you don't think doing guys in the butt is a sin, you goto hell. you cuold live the best life on this planet, save millions of kids from burning fires, singlehandely solve world hunger, but still, without absolution of your sins, yuo goto hell.

and say you're a parent and some mass murderer comes to your door, and when you open it, he says "I'm killing all the christian's children, are you christian?" If you do not say "yes" guess where you're going? hell
sad isn't it?

While it was before jesus, King David, God's most beloved person(yes, he had a favorite) killed his best friend to sleep with his wife, slaughtered thousands of people, and yet because he was always true to god, and always asked for forgiveness, he was the fcking man in god's eyes.

Christianity and bible are psycho.

Revelation is an extremely symbolic book for the most part. It is about the visions given to John about the apocolypse. 144,000 people means a large number. It is also an extremely small number compared to the rest (The narrow gates of heaven)
