Question -
For those of you current employed by Scion - how did you get your job? Did you apply in person at your local dealership? Apply online?
Thanky!

define employee of scion... i don't think you can apply at a dealership. you would have to get a hold of corporate office. and i'd assume they had people from toyota move to scion. gave them pure priced raises or something.

unless you are trying to work at the dealership. then you can just go there and apply.

Working specifically for Scion either at a national or regional level would be a tough gig to get. Scion always takes its people from Toyota/Lexus offices (usually Toyota). Working for Toyota requires training (in most cases) for 6 months or more at the HQ in Torrance. After that you are assigned to a region of their choice. You can request, but there are no garuntees.
At that point you can work your way up in job position within the region and sometimes transfer to other regions (this is common). Eventually you could grab a position with national.
One of the first steps is the application process above.
There are of course other ways to work with Scion. The most common of these would be at a dealership in Sales, Parts, or Service. There can be a good living in working at a dealership and you can create many opportunities for yourself if you try hard. This also has the benefit of keeping you local. Most dealerships offer no opportunity to move to another area. You can also apply for a job with Toyota Financial Services. They probably have the least hands on time with the cars themselves, but the lease program is freakin' nice.
Well, I hope that helps. Reps from Scion's National and Regional offices are often at bigger Scion events around the country. Places like Scion Exposed and the largest of the club shows (such as my own in May or Scikotics Asylum in June) generally have a few reps there who are happy to talk to you about a career path with Toyota/Scion.
One last note, this is a young person's game and Toytoa looks at a University education as a must have for all but a very select few.
Good luck!

Thanks for all the info, everyone.
I was inquiring more towards the sales within dealerships kinda gig - but that link was awesome. And being in the LA area, I'm right there near Torrance.

go straight to a dealership for a sales job. like selling scions? yeah. if they like you. you'll have a job. most places like previous sales experience. some places will take you in fresh. so they can work with a clean slate. make sure you're not shy and be very enthusiastic 100% of the time. always run around with a sense of urgency. be bold but be nice and polite. just ask to speak to the new car sales manager at the scion dealerships near you. they usually do the higher. then you take a test on the comp. measures your personality. then the training course... blah blah... sigh... then toyota and scion certification programs. done online of course.
