Ok, didn't watch (at work) but that's a silly notion, because insurance companies rule the world.

Holy crap I wonder how well documented their claims are, I mean if all of this is true (knowing that a lot already is) would mean this whole is ruled by a king per say.

what a sad world we live in all I know is I'm getting me some land in the middle of nowhere and buying a bunch of guns because one day the world will collapse and land will be the only thing to show for yourself.

It's always been a fairly sad world, but it's much better than it was 200 years ago, 600 years ago, and 2000 years ago.

I don't see an end to civilization anytime soon, unless something like in The Stand happens. However, I'm more convinced that the rising seas will do more to, er, uhm, correct the human population downward.

The Rockies are way too expensive, but good value can still be had in North Georgia, Tennesee, and North Carolina at 4000 ft+ above sea level. The only thing left is to find some Afghani contractors to build a labrynth into the mountain for me ;)

Keep in mind, precious metals/gems, guns, ammo, food, water, and land will always be valued and tradable, no matter what sort of economy comes forth. So go ahead, buy your wife that big rock, and yourself that shotgun, one day, you just might need it.
