The writers of the show (when they are moving the plot along) really know how to to twist the knife of drama deeper and deeper into your intestines.

Case in point: Boomer ( a Cylon ) is about to be gang-raped by members of the Battlestar Pegasus; they are stopped by.......... her ex-lover and her current lover. While in the process of protecting her, they accidentally kill a ranking officer of the Pegasus, which results in their immediate court-martial by the Admiral and immediate death sentence.

Yeah, that was tense.

 

well, one was her ex-lover-but-not-really because that sharon was killed and sent back to the cylon side. so while physically the same, they're different people. which doesn't make it any easier.
