Mayweather ran circles around that Golden Boy.

@ those flurries that DLH threw that everyone was amazing. Floyd rolled through all that like nothing and gave a big ol' :D after it all.

i rooted for de la hoya because mayweather talks to damn much.
far as im concerned he didnt back it up by beating his ___

there definitely was no "whipping his a$$" like mayweather said. In my opinion de la hoya won that fight. if you look at whenever de la hoya faked throwing a punch, mayweather flinched and backed up like a little b****. mayweather landed 100 more punches according to the lederman card?? yeah f***in right. rematch. mayweather didn't back his trash talk up one bit. if he was so quick he would have landed those punches and stopped runnin around the ring. like de la hoya said "if i didn't press the fight, there would have been no fight". mayweather's full of himself and needs a reality check on his fighting skills

This is why I'm glad I didn't pay to see the fight. A few friends had it and they called me up to tell me about what a waste it was.

Now what needs to happen is Mayweather and Dana White can have a sit down and see how he can fair against the UFC fighters he's been ragging on.

chuck tito randy would whoop mayweather so fast but its not really fair because they can use everypart of their body. but if he wants tpo call them out then they should fight boxing vs ufc lol

Flinched and backed up? What was Floyd supposed to do, block punches with his face? It's called evasion.

Mayweather punched when it mattered; which is why he landed so many, because he didn't throw out any unnecessary garbage like Oscar did. He may have thrown less TOTAL punches, but he landed more than Oscar did. DLH got Floyd in the corner and just started swinging wildly to the body...and ALL of that got blocked or rolled through. And the crowd, the casual fans that they are, couldn't see anything and just lost their minds because they thought they were seeing poetic justice. Whatever.

The ONLY rounds that I'll give to Oscar were the ones that he actually used his jab. That stuff rocked Floyd and had me going for a minute, but once Oscar stopped using it (when it mattered), he faltered. I had Floyd all the way, but when Oscar was actually using the jab, he was dominant.

A lot of the people that say Mayweather isn't good, hasn't seen the other 37 fights he won. If Floyd can't be touched, he's not going to waste time trying to hit you; he's just gonna outbox you until you're gassed and then he's gonna go to work. The only thing shocking about the fight was that Floyd didn't knock that golden boy out.

That fight was a bunch of crap, they're just setting it up for a rematch and more money. I'm glad I didn't spend the 60 for ppv.

I hope the next fight mayweather gets a fist full of his own trash talking right back at him.

I'm a BIG Mayweather fan, but if there's gonna be one more fight out of him, I can definitely see him falling to Sugar Shane Mosley. Easily.

That is, if Floyd isn't still saying that garbage that he's retiring.

no, i didn't say he should take the punches. but at least block and don't just throw one punch then get out...that's not a boxer. I'm not taking credit away from the guy because he's won all his fights. he must be good at what he does. i'm talking about this particular fight when he was talking trash about there being a massacre and him whipping oscar's ___. THAT did not happen. he need to stop running and fight and then it would have been a unanimous decision. oscar stopped using his jab and that's where he lost. that was his fault. but mayweather made no attempt to come at oscar and make the fight happen

Rematch? Didnt Mayweather say he was retiring? Mayweather is such a sh*t talker. He talks alot of it. What happen to the can of whoop ___ he was gunna bring out on DeLa Hoya? He didnt back up anything he said on that 24/7 show. All I gotta say it was a tiring 12 rounds. I want my $56.95 back!!

I liked the fight, I don't know what you people are _____ing about, but most boxing forums loved the fight.

I scored it a draw myself, but had DLH thrown his jab he would have won.

He was more aggressive, made use of his combos, and guided Mayweather aroud the ring in every round. Fights are scored on much more than just punches.

Mayweather usually throws counter punches or single shots like he did on Saturday, DLH throws combos and jabs(which he didn't use).

Both men executed their game plans very well, exciting technical matchup.

This wins any conversation in this thread thus far. If the rest of you were looking for a punching contest, then you were watching the wrong fight and obviously you were disappointed. If you were looking for two guys to stand there swinging at each other mindlessly for 90 minutes you can load up Fight Night on your 360 or PS2 and do it yourself.

This is why people think boxing is barbaric; because they don't realize that the fighters actually have to THINK to win in addition to fight.

Oscar got outboxed. Shoulder roll defensive stance for the win. Floyd got a cool $10 million by dancing circles around De La Hoya.

To DLH's credit, he couldn't get knocked DOWN, let alone knocked out, by Floyd. I'll freely admit that. Mayweather's only KOs were against people 140 and under -- where the field was even for him. Mayweather was fighting uphill against Oscar and while Floyd HAD to KO De La Hoya to get a unanimous decision, he knew he couldn't do it that way and had to rely on his other abilities (hand speed, mobility, defense defense defense) to win. Floyd gassed DLH bad. You can't win against someone you can't catch.

I don't believe DLH gassed, he was fighting the exact same ammount of energy from round one to round 12.

i disagree, he tired out in the 9th. he did most of the chasing though so therefore he got tired quicker with his flury of punches. he regained himself after the bell though then got his stamina back. damn shame cuz it was a very good fight, but no need to run around the ring like mayweather though, come out and "massacre" your opponent like you said you would
