Check out the city of Salvador da Bahia. Crazy number of churches and is a UNSECO heritage site with beautiful cobblestoned streets. Or head to the top of Corcovado mountain to enjoy one of the most beautiful views in the world.

Where in Brazil are you going?

 

Undecided. My friend and I was supposed to go, he has been there before. I got held up due to others taking vacation at the same time and can't go until Oct, I don't think he wants to change his days. I had people telling me how dangerous it is there so I might wait until I have someone to go with. I still would like to go though if not now then before I quit this job. I may go to New Zealand instead for now.

If I don't hit up Brazil this trip then I will definately next year. New Zealand was another place I have wanted to visit.

 

Well, danger means different things to different people. I felt less safe in New York than I did in Brazil.

Its safe enough to anyone who is sensible. There are areas to be avoided, like favelas, and some security tips that should be followed, as in any big city in the world. If youre visiting, read a lot and ask questions to locals and the local police. Sites like WikiTravel and virtualtravel are good places to start.
