Default Breastfeeding in Public

Since there are a lot of debatable topics floating around, I thought I'd like to throw one out there for you.

How do you feel about women breastfeeding their children in public?

I support anytime a woman wants to bare her body in public.

It would bother me if my wife/gf was doing it and someone was watching.

usually at least a peek of areola. i'm kidding btw. but as I am a parent, i do support it. I've heard how much pumping sucks, espeically for working moms. We should allow people to take the best care of children possible, and clearly that's feeding them breastmilk.

I dont' know about peaks of areola in public., and if so, just really quickly while latching, right? Unless you've got a woman pulling out her entire big floppy out for the world to see... which I have very, rarely witnessed. I find that completely unnecessary.

Yeah, in Europe and basically any other place other than North America, BF'ing is very common.

I thought I'd ask this question as there are lots of people who do not think women should breastfeed in public and that they should do it in privacy like in a bathroom stall. Woman have been bothered by many people, just for simply trying to feed their child.

I think it's a bunch of bull____. It's natural and it has nothing to do with gross sexual activity. People who have problems with it need to grow the f@ck up. As long as you're not being a perv and trying to sneak a peak there's no problem on either end of it. It bugs me when people stare at a woman breast feeding, though. Mind your damn business. I've never seen a woman just whip it out and bare to all. Every woman I've seen breastfeeding covers it with a cloth while feeding. The only chance you'd get to see it is if you were a creepshow and were staring directly at it the whole time.

Exactly!

I think a woman should be allowed to breastfeed anywhere, at anytime. At church, in front of children, on a plane, at a store, in front of anybody.

Skeorx13, I agree with you completely. People can have completely wrong thoughts about the human lactating breast.

It part of life....eating. You dont stare at adults when they eat...dont stare at infants or their mothers... it's simple...there's nothing taboo about it. If you dont like it..go away...you shouldnt be watching anyhow. Thats not hard.

Even if they can cover it up well, I find 2 things wrong with it...

1) you'll find you're glancign around normally, suddenly realize a woman is breast feeding, and feel horrible for accidentally staring. Trust me, it happens...

2) When you know before that someone is breat feeding, it can make things really awkward. For instance, my girlfriend's sister always does it when I'm at the house. Then I feel like I have to keep conversations going with my head glued to the TV or toward some wall...ugh
