Default Brett Farve Retires

I am sure all you football fans know the Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre has retired. As being a major Packer fan I was wondering what everyone else thinks about his retirement, also I am a little ____ed at some of the news services telling him to man up for at his retirement speech on Thursday. I would like to know what you think of Brett Favre and his retirement.

LOL @ the reply.. but yes he did retire.. and even as a bears fan i'm sad to see the guy go, especially with the team he had around him last season. i actually got to meet the guy when i was like in 6th grade, he was at my school for some fox kids flag football game. it was hilarious watching him try to lightly pass the ball to these kids, cuz i'm convinced he cannot softly pass a ball.. he was throwin bullets!!!

but anyways.. it's sad to see a guy who loved the sport as much as he did retire. he truely played the game for the love of it, not for the money or for the fame.. and it was obvious each time he stepped on the field.

,, i thought he still had one season left in him <shrug>

man, it was one mistake in a great career.. but because of that i thought he would come back. didn't he say he would sometime in the middle of the season? he had a team nobody thought would get anywhere because of their youth and they got to the conference championship!

I'm surprised he retired with the team that he has now. They could easily go to the next Superbowl. But at any rate, in 5 years just put his Jersey next to Rice's in the Hall of Fame, cause he is a goat too.

Brett Favre one of the best f all times. No one can argue that look at everything he has accomplished in his career.

In response to the media outlets telling him to man up look at every long term player who retired on his own terms they are all teary eyed old men who know just how special it is to do that. I am not a packer fan but I am a favre fan he made watching football enjoyable even when he was making my team look silly. I wish there were more players with his heart and vigor for the game instead of all the idiot money and fame chasers in the league.

Haha, way to bring a topic back from the dead. He needs to retire again. Previous comments stand. Haha.

^^ well at least I wont be alone in this thread for saying something not positive. lol

I never have been a Packers fan.... but didnt need to be. WAS he good? yeah I think he was. He was in the same Era as Elway. Both were great.
But the difference to me IMHO is that Elway retired when he should've, when he was on top...and could look back on a great, long career. I just think Farve should've done something similar and retired when he was too instead of dragging it out.
Of course that's just IMO.
