ok so tonight i got pulled over on the way from taking my girlfriend home. The thing is the cop said i was speeding 72 in a 55 but i KNOW i was not speeding. I even had my pregnant girlfriend and i would NEVER speed with her in my car EVER especially when shes pregnant. So back to the ticket the cop was not stationed or even in my lane he was in the opposite lane coming towards me and there was a car in front of me doing 55 as well. the cop passed me and then pulled a hard u turn and came up to me, stopped me, and gave me the ticket. is there anyway i can fight it because i WAS NOT SPEEDING...

 

if he didnt have a locked speed on his radar then it should be defendable

well, having sat thru many sessions of traffic court, you can fight it, but unless you have a really credible wittness with you and a clean driving record, you can't really fight it.

absolutely! you can fight any ticket. will you win? very unlikely...

 

is your car modified in any way?? intake, exhaust?? they may use that against you. like, 'why would you modify a car if not to go faster?" and if you have any previous speeding tickets, i say just pay the fine & be done with it

 

they can't use implications to find you guilty. otherwise, why would you own a gun if not to shoot somebody? etc.

even if he didnt radar you, if he took a class to be able to judge how fast an object is moving by just look at it, (which is complete bs) he can use that to backup his actions. You should most definately fight it, the judge may sympathize with you in that the cop was on the opposite side of the road driving, it is extremely difficult if impossible to judge a car on the opposite sides speed lol.

so fight it, yes. you may have a good chance at winning, especially if your record is clean.
