Let me just start off by saying i am a complete noob when it comes to photography. It is something i would like to start as a hobby though. I have graduation this week and I want to ask for a good beginners camera to start out with. Now I know absolutely nothing about lenses or bodies or anything. I have browsed some lower end cheaper cameras and I came across the Canon Powershot S5 IS. It seems like a pretty good base camera to start out with. Any advice or things I should look for while shopping for a begineers camera? Thanks in advance

 

Welp, I am in the market for a SLR camera (looking at keeping it under $700). Sony has the 10.2 alpha200 on sale at bestbuy this week for $499...

SLR would be the only way to go I think. I know all the entry level ones are $500, but its not _that_ much money.

 

i am looking at slr's now, the xt i might pick up, over a hundred views and one comment about sony's????
