Default Carbon Fiber Seats, etc... Long time, no see..!

Hi All,

It's been a long time since I've been on these boards and a lot has changed, with me that is..

I am now a manufacturer and importer of carbon fiber seats and custom parts. I have an Xa:

And, a new Civic Si:

I am currently in the process of manufacturing several CF parts for the Civic's, and have a decent stock of CF Misano style seats - like these:

The Scion aftermarket support has been very, very good, but I thought I would ask everyone if there is a need for anything you have not been able to source? If there is a void anywhere, I would love to hear it and will see what I can do. Or, perhaps, there may be a need for a group buy on seats, or whatever?? I would be more than happy to become a site sponsor and do whatever I can for the community.

So, if there's a need, I'm listening...

Are you an angel....?

lol. Yes we always need CF. The couple of companies that do offer the products greatly lack in response time and customer service.

I think if you do become a sponsor and will tell us that you will come up with CF parts and ACTUALLY have them in stock, then you will be adored here.

Well, I won't kid you about anything. I'll always be up front and deliver as promised. My factory manager is OBSESSED with quality!

Alas, development takes times. Sometimes a month or two. For me, I just don't want to offer something that's already on the market (unless, of course, there's a real need). I'm looking for new projects & fresh ideas. I have no problem doing group buys either. The rest can go to Ebay or where-ever.

So what's missing for Xa, Xb, and Tc owners? I'm open to suggestions..

Even if you do manufacture cf stuff that other companies have out, and your customer service is better then people will buy from YOU.

I think there are a LOT of good/fast companies with these products:
hoods
lip kits
spoilers

So I wouldn't go that direction.

BUT things like:
Mirrors
Armrest
gauge cluster
HVAC/centre console
valve cover
air diversion panel

are always a hit and the only company out there selling these are having delay/customer/fitment issues.

I don't want to upset the mods here and talk price or even offer them here. There is a time & place for that as a sponsor. I will tell you this: I can put you in set for about 25% of Cobras. What I would like to see here is a group buy where they can be ordered to spec (colors, embroidery, etc..) & I can hook everyone up with custom brackets so nothing has to fabbed. Just a nice, clean install. We would need a minimum of 12 buyers...

See post above ^^

Yes, they recline. They have micro adjusters that are notchless so you can put them exactly where you want them. Then, there is a release bar on the back so you can flip them forward easily. These are very solid and built to the same specifications as the Misano. I can do most any fabric - mesh & suede. But I do not offer leather on this seat. Materials are all high quality 3M products and fire retardant high density foam. The back can be made in black or silver carbon fiber. They are 22lbs each, sans brackets. Not bad considering Bride Gias weigh-in at a whopping 52lbs each!

Clean install means free from poor fit and all the other PITA things that go along with aftermarket parts.

Regarding air-bags, I honestly haven't even looked at the Scion set-up yet. I'm sure there are enough Scions out there with aftermarket seats that can answer this question, but - bags in the seat, forget-about-it.. They would be history & there's no way around it. The main thing is making sure that the rest of them continue to function as normal. The Honda was easy to make this happen. I'm guessing the Scion will be about the same.

Remember though, I'm a geezer. I've driven cars that were old enough to be ordered with SEAT BELTS as OPTIONS. No disrespect, but I kinda chuckle when kiddies worry about losing their precious airbags as if they should be installed in everything from go-Karts to bicycles. It's no big deal to me, even though it has become a quaszi-PC issue among many new car owners. I wish I could rip them all out and the weight they add that I don't want. One of these days I will. I'm making a dry carbon roof replacement panel for Civics that will eliminate the sunroof and drop about 75lbs off that bloated pig. When I change it, I will most likey ditch the side curtain bags too. With the porky 75lb stock seats gone, that'll be - 2 down..!

Why would get bashed? I like the idea myself. Thanks for thinking out of the box!
