damn man, that sucks to hear. i would part out some small things so you can fix the hole. keep us posted. also, check craigslist for s/c parts and what not. i know there are 2 or 3 posted up for like a grand or so.

 

well the body/paint isn't too bad seeing as how I haven't spent too much this month I should be able to drop my car off this thursday to get it fixed.

My lingering issue is the S/C and running it in the state that its in. Pete and Csaba have suggested I find out exactly what is wrong with it (so I made a post on the FI Forum) and go with Kikcaffeine's rebuild kit.....or ride that hoe till it can't go anymore and in the mean time save up for a turbo kit....

you could always get a stock ECU from a junkyard and uninstall the S/C'er yourself...

Well just a tad bit of an update I guess:

In light of my recent happenings, I have decided to remove the S/C *Probably at Toyota* and going in another direction with the car (N/A definitely since I really don't need to be all that fast)

So i'm already looking into some NICE N/A goodies to replace that death snail that's presently in my car.

With that said, I am planning to sell my S/C for a nice cheap price (in order to give the buyer a chance to buy a rebuilding kit)

I just wanted input on how much people thought I could get for it. *I was thinking of selling it for roughly $400-500*

How much are the rebuilding kits?

 

from what I was reading they were in the 400 range for the ceramic bearings n seals

 

Hmm..I could seeing you getting a couple hundred more out of the S/C kit yourself.

I would ask at least $600 for it.

 

there is two kit for the bearings and the new seal one is around 250 the other one is around 350...

 

well we'll see how much it's gonna be at Toyo to remove it, since my boy that works there told me they could flash the ECU back to stock.

So if the removal is in the 500's then I'd probably just ask about 500 for it. I'm not looking to make money off this, just really not lose as much

Geez for 500 dollars i would really think about it. I can rebuild it and get a new shaft for it if gompka is still doing that. I would be able to save for a lsd easier and it would be much cheaper on my pockets that way.
