Default Circuit City going under

I can't wait for some liquidation sales. I have been wanting a BlueRay for some time now. Maybe I will have a chance at getting one for a decent price, maybe even a PS3?

Not too surprising - CC sucks.

the ones near us have closed and there isnt many other places to buy electronics anymore (I work at Best Buy). There is Fry's but they are at least 20-30 min away!

Funniest thing is people wanted us to price match the liquidation prices..... ya....

pretty much all of the CC here has closed down. there liquidation sales sucked i think. all they did was bump the price higher then it was and pretended to lower the price. there were few very good prices.

I heard the liquidation sales at cc are a joke (i have gone already) I have found the items 50 to 60 dollars cheaper for example a LCD monitor online at amazon priced at 230 and CC was at 295 24"

^^ yeah
people go "oh yay, 40% off."
but what they dont know is that they mark up the prices and then sell them

so maybe you save a few bucks depending on what you are buying, keep in mind it probly only has a maunfacturer warranty of a year or less and then if it craps out after that there is no store warranty...keep that in mind if you are buying high quality items

of a year i assume?
anyways

smaller things are usually the way to go

i would not advise a big 60'' tv w/o a back up warranty though

but now you can take some pics of your ride for us to enjoy!

went there today in OC and only saw a 10% discount on most things. Maybe better sales later on down the road.

The liquidation is run by an outside company. It's basically just cashiers and very few reps in the stores. I went to the CC in the Eastland Center and this was the 'clearance'

30% off MSRP for Car Audio/AV Cables
20% off MSRP for CD/DVD/BD
10% off MSRP for just about everything else (including games)

30% off MSRP of car electronics is, usually, more expensive than other online retailers.
20% off MSRP of a DVD is still more expensive than Amazon and CC's normal 'everyday low prices'.

It was a bit sad seeing so many people leaving with products that they overpaid for

Some people have been more fortunate (East Coast) where DSLR Lenses have been seen for 30-70% off...
