Default Cost of NYC photo op:

$328,835

So much for the guy being a "Green" president.

Same thing could have been accomplished with Photoshop and five cents worth of electricity.

To prevent the inevitable comment:

When one of the Presidents jets is out of service, many authorized contingency plans are put into place. These are not normal, everyday jets. They are always on the ready to carry our President in any situation. You can bet without a doubt that Obama was briefed as to what was going on. Its infuriating how he keeps getting a pass with this "I didnt know" garbage.

Lets face it folks, if he didnt know hes incompetent. If he did know, hes corrupt. Either way, we're getting scr*wed. The press needs to start doing its job.

I'd hate to see the forms and signatures needed to allow an Air Force One capable plane to go out on a joyride, but I would imagine Obama's signature is one of them required...I just don't see how he could not know.

It was a pretty bad move, admittedly.

Also, you know that if they went that route, there would be people criticizing him for faking the whole thing.

Fact is, you can't please everyone.

This isn't only about the $300K it cost to take a picture. It's about the thousands of people who ran screaming from office buildings and had horrible flashbacks of 9/11. It takes a special type of stupid to not realize what kind of panic that would cause. Our inexperienced president and the cracker-jack team he hired can be really proud of this one.

Classic (and predictable) response. Any time Obama or one of his staff screws up, that is exactly what I expect to hear..."yeah, but Bush.....".
Guess you can't just admit it was an idiotic thing to do, huh?

This is why I don't pay attention to anything political. This hasn't even made it to one full page yet and already it is a Bush/Obama thing.

Someone f'd up. Plain and simple. No matter WHO it was, they f'd up. Obama, the cabinet, the military, the FAA, the city officials in NY, the FBI... I'm sure they all had a part. Blame all of them.

Exactly. That's the issue. It's not about the money it cost. That's chump change.

whoa relax i m not saying it wasnt stupid. but really the press just eats this stuffup and its all you hear about. you also have to think how is this really affecting me? water cooler small talk is all the news is good for, like half the stuff they say is partly embelished to make it more interesting. the new cool thing to talk about is "whoa did you hear how obama effed up" but really dudes just trying to clean up someone elses mess with the media constantly watching his every move kinda bigger than him spending less than half a mil to "try" and look like not such a douche but then of course it blows back in his face lol.
