The install discs that came with your MacBook will only work on that model. However, if you purchase a retail copy of OS X, it will install on almost any Mac- UNLESS the Mac is newer than the OS(i.e., you try to install OS 10.0.1 onto a Power Mac Quad).

You will need a copy of OSX that isn't model specific. I would say check ebay. What specs are the computer? Maybe you could run Tiger on it, because Tiger is pretty sweet.

I have one of the original G4 powered Mini's 1.25ghz, 512 ram, Tiger. It works well. I have a 21" Viewsonic CRT monitor hooked up to it, it is a pretty comical size difference.

tired of windows? what's tiring? being able to play games? getting updated drivers for hardware? networking? easy to find software?

If all you do is surf and play with your ipod, then mac is the way to go, even though it'll cost you 2-3 times more than a "name brand" pc(hp/dell), or 4-5 times more than building a pc yourself.

or are you hearing the rumors that Macs don't crash? since 8.x Mac os stability is WORSE than a pc. Again, I have a dual processor g5(the most top of the line one, before they went to intel) sitting right infront of me, next to my crappy old pc. guess which one i'm using? O yeah, I'm a graphic artist, the one and only person that used to be able to reasonaly argue for mac's superiority, that mac held until 99 when adobe started releasing pc/mac versions of their software at the same time.

it's not cheap. compare the specs to a pc. you're getting ripped off.
