Default Direct TV

I am contemplating getting Direct Tv and switching from Comcast cable. I was wondering if anyone could give me their pro's and con's about Direct tv. Especially people in the Washington state area. What has been your experience with it? Thanks in advance.

I have Dish Network which is very similar (slightly cheaper if I'm not mistaken) and I love it! The picture quality is great and it rarely ever goes out, only in like very heavy storms. It's much cheaper than cable and I think it's a great deal. I say go for it!

I currently have Dish, had Direct before, they wanted to charge me for a new receiver when mine went bad so I switched to Dish, only then did they offer to replace my old receiver free of charge, too late. May switch back, watching for great hdtv offer, like free, lol.

I've had DirecTV for about 4 years and wouldn't watch without it. If you have an HDTV it's HD programming is better than DishNetwork. DirecTV is a little pricier but there is more programming selection with DirecTV

I also noticed that my parent's Dish Network used to download the programming menus alot. You would have to wait for new menus throughout the day. They have since switched over to DirecTV.

i have an HD tv, would I still need to buy the HD receiver from DirecTV to see all the channels in HD or will it work if I just get their regular DVR??

You don't need to buy it from them. But you need one. The advantage to getting it from them is the repair/maintenace agreement. If it breaks or needs service.. it's covered. I don't know what happens to boxes bought from Best Buy or elsewhere.
