I converted from Mountain Dew to Surge as well. That stuff was the greatest. Have you seen this site: http://www.savesurge.com They even have a DVD out! Vault is alright but not quite as good as good ol' Surge.

That rumor was out relating to Mountain Dew years before Surge even existed.

I remember liking Crystal Pepsi when it first came out. Then it went away and reappeared with a new formula and tasted horrible. I don't miss it at all. That blue Pepsi was just wacky.

What about "Josta." Anyone remember that? That was one of the first energy sodas I ever saw back in like '95. I guess it was just ahead of its time because Pepsi stopped making it before the energy drink boom of the past few years. Also, it tasted like crap; that might have had something to do with it.



Oh yeah, and one more.... anyone remember "OK" soda from Coke? It was also horrible. Remember when you were a little kid and you would go to Chuck E. Cheese's then fill your fountain cup with little bit of every soda available? Thats what it tasted like.

hmm.. ok... i remember crystal/clear pepsi...wasnt bad..not great... i dont remember seeing pepsi blue.... jolt is still sold around here in various stores... vanilla coke is still around here too.... black cherry vanilla is good(just finished a can) i remember "ok" soda...

now whats really funny... is TAB is now back as an energy drink... and if your lucky you can still find regular TAB in some random stores...

tab can be purchased at any local publix supermarket in the orlando area, had a can at a friends house an hour ago and i cant sleep

 

can't find it in a single store in hawaii....

 

ok i member josta that the billboards eveeerywhere when i was a kid in san diego. Tab sucks I dont like its flavor there is some good diet stuff but man that sucked. Um what about cactus cooler. I personally loved pepsi blue I miss it. And finnaly Dr.Slice (it wass heaven) the closest thing i can find now is vanilla cherry Dr Pepper. sighggggh

I have seen Jolt and Vanilla Pepsi fairly recently. I hope they are still around!

As for Surge, does anyone remember the commercials? Those were funny! "SURGE!" Then the people would run out and do something "extreme" and whatever while chugging their Surge. Funny stuff!

Someone mentioned "Tab". You might as well add "Fresca" to the mix. Does anybody remember the "Pop Shoppe"? It was a place where you could choose the sodas you wanted (I think a 24-pack?) and take them home in a big red plastic bottle holder. Pepsi One (guys Diet Pepsi) isn't bad. The thing now is Splenda. Man, this stuff is too sweet! Makes me feel like my teeth are going to fall out after I drink a soda.

 

It's all marketing.

Companies bring out a new flavor every other quarter or something like that and sell it on the market just to see how it does. Then they pull it from shelves with no explanation.

If it was selling very well, the sales will increase dramatically when they put it back on the shelves, and when they do, they'll leave'em there. if it wasnt selling well you'll never see it again

That's what happened with the Mountain Dew Orange. They brought it out for summer in like 04 and took it off the shelves that october. now its sold everywhere :p

 

Red Bull is an exception, but man those energy drinks are bad for you...
Does anyone know about the affects of guarana, which is found in most all energy drinks. My wife did a paper on the stuff about a year ago in a Health Studies class. After that, I stopped drinking it. Got my brothers to stop drinking it as well. I know that it is safe mostly as long as it isn't consumed in great portions, but I decided not to mess with it, my personal opinion.

 

I don't like the taste of Red Bull, but I'm addicted to Lo-Carb Monster.
