DVD burning question

Can anyone recommend me a program they have used that cost under 50 bucks that converts and burns mpegs, wav, avi and etc. to dvds?

its free. the codec is free.

Nero works great, and it came with the dvd burner that i bought.

Yeah Nero works pretty good. But with my slow @$$ computer at home it take foooreeevvveeerrr to transcode video.
