Default DVD Ripper/Copier?

I was just wondering what you computer gurus are using to copy dvds? now, i'm not looking to do it ILLEGALLY....haha, i just wanna be able to take a dvd that i own, and copy onto my computer so i can transfer it to a portable device, like an ipod.

i tried a few from download.com, but the trial versions dont let you rip "copy protected" discs. so just wondering which is most user friendly and stable.... and one which presumably would let you copy a "protected" disc. if that exists. thanks.

To copy movies over to my iPod I use Cucusoft DVD to iPod converter. Costs less than $50 and works perfectly.

I have 3 different programs set up(it depends on the disc itself). Some copy protection discs won't work with one, but another will take care of it just fine.

DVDFab Platinum

DVD Shrink

DVD Decrypter

and for converting them and putting them on my psp/iphone I use "ImTOO PSP Video Converter 3"
