yeah alot of things uses power when they are not turned on i forget what its called but its true you can buy some thing at the hardware store to messure that stuff too heck even my LCD flat screen monitor makes a nice whine when its turned off too

only problem with the LED lights out now is the low luminosity. The brightest 110 V LED bulb I've seen is barely as bright as a 40 W incandescent.

Seriously though, make sure that when those CF bulbs burn out, you do NOT place them in your garbage can. They contain mercury and MUST be brought to a recycling center that handles household hazardous waste.

Technically, it is aganist the law to just dump them in the trash, so dont undo all your "green" work tossing them in an improper fashion

i call those signal use light saber's i tend to break 'em in the dumpster at work its pretty fun too

besides breaking stuff is already fun as it is...
