Default ez pass question

Any northeasterners out there?

got an ez-pass question..

thought i start using one of these, so i went out to get one.

does it need to stick on my windshield to work, or will it still work if i just leave it sitting there upfront on the dash near my windshield?

It will def. work by the dash. It'll even work in the glove box. I went into the city with an excoworker and she had her and her bf's ez passes. One she took out and put on the dash and the other she left in her purse on the floor. They both got hit.

I dont know about it working in the glove box? because i drive the turnpike all the time back and forth from school and for awhile i didnt have it mounted and would just hold it up to the window when i was going through the toll to get the green light....Well sometimes it wouldnt register (holding it upside down, or something) and that got to be a pain.....So mounted at the top of windshield above rear view mirror

I guess it depends on the strength of the scanner. The one I'm talking about was going into the Lincoln Tunnel, so I guess they definitely want to make sure they get their $8. Bastages. LOL

to the OP,

I'm from Rochester and travel I-90 a lot. What I have done in the past is just leave it in my cupholder and when I get close just hold it up near the windshield, drive through, then through it back in the cupholder.
