I'd love to mark up my hood and create something unique. Too bad I suck at drawing.

I thought about this before but had no idea it was popular (whole drawing on the hood idea)

Popped in my mind after seeing those rust hoods on the vdubs, plaid, checker pattern, polkadots, etc. Why not draw something fun on there?


IMO, Its sick and personal. Your idea is a little quirky, but It looks fun, lol.

There are a few coats of Rustoleum Painter's Touch semi gloss black spray paint. That's about it. I wiped the whole thing down with alcohol to get rid of body oils prior to breaking out the markers.

Thanks RCZ. I think it's got some rust hood flavor to it with the abused surface texture going on. In my failed attempts to salvage the original finish that was clouding up on me, I got a little over zealous with the sand paper and there are some spots where I got into the fibers. Add the scrungy looking paint on top of that and shazam! Garbage Pail Kids hood!

im guna go buy a 12 pack of chisel tip sharpies now, and see how far that gets me lol
