Fallout 3
I am so super nerdy excited for this.
Anyone else?
And what are you thoughts on the V.A.T.S. thing. I'm excited to give that a whirl. I really like how they made everything appear slightly cinematic without dragging it out to the point where it will get repetetive

I'll give you my best take on Fable 2.
If you like heroic RPGs, this game is pretty cool. The combat system is easy to learn, you can't actually die, and the NPC interactions get repetitive, but are better than the zombie like NPC's in Oblivion. Having firearms in this game is extremely cool, the magic system is simple, but rocks. The quests are very nicely done and not epic to the point of eating away at your entire afternoon. The main quest is about 12 hours of gameplay, but there is much more to do before, during, and after.
All in all, a very enthralling game, while not being groundbreaking. It will be too easy for most hardcore gamers, and from what I can see so far, will offer many hours of gameplay, but little replay value once you have done everything.
I'd actually recommend waiting for the price to drop to $39.99. If Lost Odyssey is any indication, it may only be a few months.

I hate it when people compare games like that. I've played both and I personally much prefer fallout 3..the atmosphere is way better. the whole post apocapylptic/nuclear wasteland sci-fi theme is just played out really well in the game IMO

I've heard a lot of complaints comparing it to Oblivion, but I've never played that so I should be fine.

Oblivion was single player RPG, not MMO. It was a decent, entertaining game but overhyped. The NPC's having lives of their own (though scripted) and that the gameworld changed were nice, though the fact that enemies scaled to your level was rediculous.
Fable II is a very good game, better than the first one. It has some nice, bawdy and sometimes dry humor, good graphics and a fun combat system. The two problems I had with it were the magic system and somewhat low replay value.
The magic system has 5 levels you can charge each spell up to, but rather than giving seperate buttons, you're only allowed to assign one type of spell per charge level. Want level 2 fireball and raise dead, too bad. They can be swapped out in game or when paused but are a PITA.
On replay, some key quests WILL alter certain areas of the map depending on your choices, but other than that the good / evil; pure / corrupt mechanic seems to only be cosmetic, giving you a halo or horns, no scars or cracked, red skin. Townspeople will also run from you and yell if you're evil, but this is minor. After all the quests are done, there's no more game. It lacks the weapon / armor collecting of Final Fantasy or other games and has no item customization other than one or two minor augment slots. There is no crafting system. Overall a good, but not excellent game.
I really want an RPG where your choices really DO matter, say rather than killing the greater evil to save the town / world regardless of your morality, you can join him, move through the ranks, overthrow him / her and lay waste to the ungrateful townspeople who shunned you in your no doubt tragic and cruel childhood, maybe even battle noble heroes online.
Just a thought, looking forward to Overlord II and a new Knights of the Old Republic if it ever comes out.
