The Evo is a 4 banger. I'm pretty sure the Neon isn't the fastest 4 cylinder production car made. The Neon's tranny also sucks. It blows out after a few years. Thats why the powertrain warranty only lasts for 3yr/36000 miles.

I'd say the Ariel Atom is probably the fastest 4-banger that you can buy in its purest form. I mean, seriously... 300BHP in a 1300-pound car is obscene. i hear they're a blast to drive. I'd like to own one of those, or maybe a Caterham 7. Mmmmm.

I know when the SRT-4 came out you could get an option to get a stage 3 turbo installed through the factory that would bring it up to some crazy HP. This is going back a few years now, but it was more then ridiculous that it was available for a Neon.
