Default go kart runs...

i've had this idea for a while about building an electromagnetic motor. well, more than a while. it's been since i was 12. but basically, i'm at a point in my life where i can fund my own experiments with this stuff. when i was a kid, i learned everything i could about magnets and electromagnetism so i would be able to seize an opportunity to build one of these at a moments notice. all i lacked was funding. well, now i've made my own opportunity, and if it works, i want you guys to be able to use this motor for free. i'm a bit leery, because if this works, it will upset more than a few people. the energy would basically be free. but, my intention is to run a go-kart off of this motor, the small test motor worked just fine, and now i want to make it practical. this is more of an opinion poll than a tech article. i wanted to know if you guys would be interested in hearing about this further, or if i should keep this to myself, and let you guys alone. i planned on doing a tech article and a status update of the go cart trials. then putting out an 'instructable' so that everyone could build it if they wanted.

I'm curious as well. Aren't the batteries heavy though?

I'd want to know more about the use of free energy, but I think you should patent it.

hmm seems intersting, id like to see any principals you have on your design with out actually giving it away but it def seems good. could also be a alternative for hybrids n such.

Is your idea much different than this guy's ideas?

well, the whole point is to give it away. i don't want to patent it. i don't want it to be owned. i just want everyone to benefit from it. and the way it works is fairly simple... i drew up a simplified diagram with labels. with a little trial and error you could probably make my test model. it's not free energy, but energy turned from potential, to kinetic, to electrical. the system cycles back into itself, to sustain it, but requires less to sustain it than it produces.

problem is... i've forgotten how to post a pic.

it requires less to sutain then it produces ? isnt that the whole theory behind cold fusion and the fact that its breaking laws of physics ?

well, no. there's a net force generated by the neodymium magnets. plus i am using a pulsing action to generate a continuous motion.

yeah, i saw the button, but i don't have a photobucket account or anything similar. i'm not big on pics. i can send the diagram on e-mail easier. just pm me with an address with the subject as mag motor.

i saw the pic, def looks interesting. think if you give it a shot in building it you cant really go wrong as long as you know its good in theory just make sure your research is good. nice work though man i understand the concept but for personal gain going to look into the magnets you described and how they work and such.

good work

thanks. the test model works, and i ran it for 3 days without it even slowing down. i was using a car battery, but in 3 days, i would think it would lose at least some of it's charge.

what about when weight is applied to the motor, like some sort of force, how much torwue do you think it could produce.

well, i was going for speed. i got it up to 10,000 rpms the first time i built it. the acrylic center spoke flew apart on me. i upped it to lexan the next time and got it to around 30,000. these are estimates with photogate data. you have to have quality photogates or it won't work... and have it register every time a magnet interupts the beam instead of drilling holes and blacking out the lexan. it seems to work better.

hmm i meant like some sorta load ur testing the motor with our actual pressure applied to it, lets say in your go kart if a human weighs 150lbs and such if your the motor lacks torque then it wont go anywhere or is that in the actual motor/alternator your using

i was planning on using a separate electric motor at first since i haven't tried the torque on it. i will eventually try it as a direct motor with a clutch and gearbox, but not yet.
