Default Got in an accident - need advice

Got into an accident yesterday on a mountain road yesterday and I'm wondering if I should put my exhaust and intake back to stock. I'm not at fault but I don't know if aftermarket mods would cause any issues....the worst part is that he tried putting the blame on me saying I cut him off just because I ended up in front of his vehicle....if you need the story here it is...

I was traveling on Route 18 to Big Bear Lake and was
somewhere in between Running Springs and Big Bear
Lake. This route is a 2-way road that has a posted speed
limit of 55 mph with occasional passing lanes for passing
slower traffic, when I came to one of these sections I
noticed an RV towing a Jeep taking up both lanes going
approximately 35 mph. I don’t know if they were taking
both lanes because nobody else was on our side of traffic
or if they were just being negligent but they were swaying
between both lanes and blocking traffic. When the RV
started staying in the #1 lane for a couple curves keeping
a 35 mph pace, I decided it would be safe for me to pass
the RV using the #2 lane. The road started to curve to the
right and the RV started coming into my lane while I was
still next to it. I started honking and sped up to avoid being
hit or being run off the side of the mountain. The RV was in
my lane and struck my rear driver side and pushed the front
of my car to the left. I gained control of the car and made my
way to a turnout to check damages and exchange information.

Ok Not sure based on the facts! were the cops called? The below is normal for ana ccident from rear. Not sure in your case though but mods should not be a factor!!!

you should not have to change anything!! If the other was behind you and you ahve rear end damage Person in back is automatically at fault!! Usually caused by following to close. Of course they tried to blame you. Its on their insurance and points if tickets issued. Modifications should not be a factor though!!

well, they were't behind me lol, they were on my left side and veered into my lane

The cops weren't called, because I've never really thought to call them. It was funny though because a CHP rolled up about 5 minutes later and asked if I broke down, looked at my exhaust and didn't give me a ticket or anything

He was cool...but he did tell me it'd probably be best to talk to my insurnce company and that a police report wouldn't really help without the other party being there.

You should have called the cops and gotten a police report. It is easier dealing with insurance companies if you have the police report.
