looked at my mail and what do I see? A package with a few words on the front that get me excited. I opened it up and I got accepted to Purdue University! I'm excited about it. Now I just got a question. How does Indiana like modded cars?
I'm originally from Indiana (Elkhart to be exact, went to college at Ball State, in Muncie), and the cops hate modders there. Sorry, but its such a ridiculously conservative state, they'll pull you over for just about anything they can. Exhaust and custom lighting (parking lights, underbody lights, etc)are big ones from my experience. Also a number of them will ask to see your engine bay for emissions, despite Indiana NOT having any emissions testing stations or an enforcement organization like they do here in Illinois.
Also radar detectors are useless because the state is so flat. A State Trooper can nail you with laser a quarter mile away or while sitting on an overpass by an on-ramp where you can't see them. And when they do, they'll throw the book at you.
And the State Troopers also have a huge fleet of 'sleeper' cars. Camaros', Mustangs, Impalas. Even seen a Caddy and an Evo.
Oh and yes, if you have a lowered car or any underbody mods or really nice wheels, you'll want to take off the mods, raise the car and put your stock wheels back on. Winters, snow, ice and lack of snow removal equipment in West Lafayette (which is hilly as all heck and happens to be purdue's campus), will destroy anything nice you have on your car. Trust me from experience with this.
It would be best to drive like a senior citizen when you're there.

well i'm not really around purdue, but i can attest for the S****Y winters around here. invest in some snow tires and you'll be uber thankful you did. the winters never seem to end around here
State troopers hide behind everything be careful..Some cops here will let you race them at the track lol ummm as for the winter it depends..This year hasnt been bad at all except for the one storm that blew in like 15" hahah..
But I have never had any problems with any cops with mods or anything..Neons are cool as long as they arent the typical blue, red... others are fine...Ive seen a car with green headlights just go right by a cop without a word lol...
Its pretty laid back..just dont do anything stupid to draw there attention and you will be fine yo..

Ya, I have a friend at Purdue and he said the winter sucks. I'll finally get to see some real snow though. Apparently I'm not allowed to have a car on campus freshman year. This is going to suck because I love my car and I know if i leave it, my mom is going to be driving it alot cause she likes it too. Sometimes she gets mad and takes my car out and I get so mad at her for that. She only did it once and it will never happen again.

Go State! Beat Purdue!
