i like more of the movies on blu ray, except for transformers that will be coming out on hd-dvd )o=.

Blu-ray:20th Century Fox
Disney/Buena Vista
Lionsgate
MGM/UA
Sony Pictures
Warner Bros.

HD DVD:DreamWorks
Paramount
Universal
Warner Bros.
Weinstein Company

i believe more adult movie companies are going to choose hd dvd because it is cheaper for them to make.

does the 360 pro support 1080p now that it has hdmi? when i had to decide i got a ps3 because of the 1080p for movie play back on my tv.

if you want a ps3 for 500 you might want to get it soon before they sell out of the 60gb and only have the 80gb for 600.

is your son going to play online? 360 you will have to pay for live and get the wireless adapter unless you want to run a long cat5 cable around your house.

ohh yeah the Wii is fun when you have people to play with.

That movie ALONE is enough to make me want to go with HD DVD. Freaking awesome movie.

That's a good question. I' was wondering the same thing. Does anyone else know?

Yeah, I know. It does kind of add a little preasure to the decision.

Probably. Our house isn't huge and it's a rancher (all on one level) so running a cable would be easy.

yea if you're gonna play online the 360 is that way to go... trust me... you have to pay like 50 a year.. but it's well worth it.. ps3 has online play.. but the online community is awful... hard to find games etc etc.. xbox has done a lot to try to build a good online community.. bottom line it's your choice.. i'd go 360 because of personal experience but not me buying..

Just read through this thread and saw one feature that isnt mentioned: If your kid is playing the PS3 you cant watch a movie, but with the 360 you can unplug the HD-DVD player, plug it into your computer or any monitor with a USB port and watch a hi-def movie somewhere else. I went with the HD-DVD because the 360 has way more games and online cant be beat - but a few good titles are showing up as exclusive PS3 games and might consider that system if I can find one cheap enough and that will open some of the Disney BR stuff up for me - but if I could only have one the 360/HD-DVD combo is the most versatile and is the only choice for online play. If you are worried about the HD cost, MS just dropped the HD-DVD player price ($169 at Wal Mart), PLUS it comes with King Kong, PLUS you get 5 more HD-DVD's free by mail - at $30 value plus each, thats $180 in incentive you DONT get with PS3 or BluRay

Blu-Ray and/or HD-DVD will never replace DVD, it's simply just an upgrade until the next big thing comes out, Digital Distribution.

from a console standpoint, I would strongly recommend a 360. Much better games and online play IMO
