Default HELLP..got suspension :(

Ok so here is the story: I was driving to Cleveland to see my parents, I passed a cop going the speed limit...about half mile into in, he pulls me over for not having front license plate. Then he checked my records and told me I had a suspended license. I had to have my friend pick me up and drive my car. I didnt receive any letters from DMV stating I have a suspended license for 12 points on there. So what should I do now? I mean I have a job I cant take off work and I need my car so what should I do? Please help me out guys. Thanks a lot

Can you find out why your liscence was suspended? Also, find out what kind of notification (if any) they did telling you your liscence was suspended. It was probably just a letter sent in the (snail) mail. Most DMV's aren't very up-to-date.

Do you know what the 12 points were on there from? Maybe your state automatically suspends your liscence if you hit a certain # of points in a certain time period.

in md, you can request a hearing to determine whether or not the suspension should be imposed or not. basically you beg and plead etc. maybe you can get restricted license for just going to home and work.

or put your front plate on, and keep driving the speed limit until you get it back. i swear, i met so many people at work in florida who had suspended or no driver's license who still drove.

I had points from stupid mistakes...like going 90 in 65, umm not stopping "properly" at stop signs, umm and more speeding.....but I had not gotten a ticket in like 8 months.

whats it take like 3 years for points to start dropping off your record? 8 months is commendable but not nearly long enough in the eyes of the state

maybe its the points that suspended you. i know in Va 13 points is the limit, after that you have no license.
