Hey all,

My fiancee just got a 60 inch widescreen HDTV and i hooked up my xbox to it. I went into the xbox system settings and selected widescreen format. But when i play a game it still displays the game in a square picture, it doesn't fit to the screen?!? Does anyone have any ideas how i can get my games to be full screen mode????

check the setting on the tv. there might be a setting that prevents the input signal from the xbox to change from 4:3 to 16:9

 

it's the TV.

when you set the xbox to display 16:9.. it really outputs a 16:9 that's been squished into a 4:3..

when you have the TV set in what should be called "full mode" it'll stretch out that 4:3 from the xbox to the proper 16:9 size and proportions and whatnot..
