Default Holding Hands Poll

What do you think?

Yes, even at the age I'm at, I'm still having this discussion with a friend of mine. I don't want to state my opinion right now until I hear some feedback.

Thanks.

I put a couple. But i guess it all depends on what the deal is, where you are etc.

I think it's mostly a couple's thing. There are times that I think that it can be more for support (like at a funeral or something along those lines), or just being goofy.

Mostly a couple's thing.

But again it varies so much, I gave a light peck on the lips to my guy friends, but my ex bf wouldn't hold my hand in public, so it really does vary.

really really good friends can hold hands for short periods of time and in good taste and fun without being considered a coupleish act.

other than that it is a "i want you to hold me" thing.

ok, here's the way to look at it.

If your boyfriend was there, would you hold another boys hand? no

if at anytime you ever wonder about "what's flirting", ask would you do it in front of your boyfriend/girlfriend?

I think it can be both. But as americans we automatically assume that it's a couple. If the peeps are that close then they may, what counts is what they do, while holding hands. Sometimes all need to do is see how they're looking at each other.

I chose something couples would do. If I were to see a guy and a girl holding hands while sitting, I'd assume they're together.

if a guy and a girl can hold hands, then so should that same guy be able to hold his male friends hands like he holds hers.

but he doesn't. unless he's ___(honestly, i guess that's the true exception)

Is there some guy actually pretending to be "just friends" with your friend and also want to hold her hand.

Good lord, the stupidity. Only are you going to hear naive females try and defend this.

So in paris, if you see a male & woman walking down the street holding hands you're not going to assume they're a couple? please.

jumping to that kind of an assumption is based on the kind of environment you are raised... if ppl are raised in a lifestyle where its fine for plutonic friends to hold hands then no, no one is going to assume that... but if an american were to go to a more open society... like a city in europe... then of course THEY will think so... because its not the acceptable norm HERE.
similarly if someone from there, were to come here... they would probably think that discussing this issue is ridiculous and pointless... we're talking about holding hands not grabbing @$$es...
